Family visit visa

Hi,

My question is about applying for a family visit visa for a Lebanese citizen.

I have an Australian passport, my husband has a British one and I want my mom who only has a Lebanese passport to visit for the birth of my second child. I know there's a ban on Lebanese passport holders but I read that in some cases (similar to mine) they are willing to reconsider.

My question is: Where is the decision actually made?

It looks to me like you can submit your documents in so many different centres but I have no intention of doing this and waiting indefinetly. Instead, I would lke to go to the main centre if there's one and try to speak to a decision maker to know if there's any chance.

So far, I've tried the number on the form 44890333, the one on the website 44330000 and 44890888 but they all put me on hold for 5 to 10 min!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

TIA, PRO is the Public Relations Officer who represents any company in dealing with the Government matters. Its a position in every company who have a large number of employees working for them. If your hubby is employed you can ask him to inquire too with his company PRO. If you search in google for the MOI (Ministry of Interior) branches and their phone numbers you will be able to get the Gharaffa Main Office number. All the Best.

There are people who advertise such services at QL from time to time and possibly one may respond. I do not have their contacts and I also do not know how good they are. You may need to be careful in trusting them should you come across any.

Thank you for your comment. Do you have their phone number? Also what do you exactly mean by PRO? Are there any agents who deal with that? We have the option of applying through QFC but they also said that it would be nearly impossible to get a visa and it might take ages (polite rejection)

TIA, the decision makers are the guys in the main Immigration office at Gharaffa (Shamal Road). Try your luck of getting an appointment there, but first get the ground reality info. from a professional PRO who visits that office.
