Family Visit Visa for Sister-in-law
Hi all, I and my wife both have resident permits in Qatar. If I wish to sponsor my wife's sister to come to Qatar on a family visit visa, what proof of genuine relationship I can provide that the immigration department at Madinat Al Khalifa will accept and grant her family visit visa for around a month.
FYI, my sister-in-law just wants to visit Qatar for around 20 days. She is a Pakistani passport holder. I am an Australian citizen while my wife is a Pakistani citizen, if that makes any difference. Me and my wife have both got Qatar ID cards. I am the only one working at the moment while my wife is a housewife.
I was thinking that, in order to proof genuine relationship between my wife and her sister, I can provide my wife's birth certificate (which is already authenticated from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qatar) which states the name of my wife's father. My sister-in-law's passport also contain the name of her father which is the same as that stated in my wife's birth certificate. Is that enough proof that both have same father and therefore are sisters, or they will not accept it?
Thanks all in anticipation for your help and sharing your previous experiences, if any.
congrats!...hope you could share if how many months your sis in law was allowed to stay here on family visit visa? it's confusing upon reading threads similar to this, as others were saying 3 months while some its 6 months?...and is the birth certificate needed to be authenticated by the embassy and mofa? thanks a lot!
Congrats..!
Thanks all for your help. I applied for sister-in-law's visit visa yesterday and got it successfully today. I only provided my wife's birth certificate and my sister-in-law's passport and as they both have the same father's name, the visa is granted. So it was far easier and smoother than I thought. Cheers.
Thank you all for the responses. I'll go forward with these documents and will let you know how it went. Cheers.
I think it is simple...You can attach a copy of birth certificate ( of your sister in law) which shows father's name. And it can be compared with your marriage certificate which shows your wife's father name as well.
Any way in practical experience...most of the time ..you got approval with out proof. But to save your time proceed with all the documents.
And as per i know....tourist visa is no more available...
Why dont u go for a Tourist visa for one month??? let me know if u need
If your wife,s passport has father,s name on it, then same father,s name on your sister in law,s passport would be suffice to prove the relationship.
If your wife,s passport contain husband,s name instead of her father, then birth certificate of your wife might be helpful.
you need the following:
- No objection letter from your company that you are sponsoring your wife's sister
- copy of her(sister-in-law) passport
- copy of your passport
- copy of your wife's passport
- marriage certificate
- 200 bucks! (not cash though)
Having the same father should be enough as proof.
Hi, My sister visited last year on family visit and we did not submit any documents to proof the relation.
Also note that the passport contains name of Father and Mother.
