Fly dubai and On arrival visa
Im a Medical Specialist by profession and Qatar resident travelling with my wife and baby to Dubai. Will I and my family get on arrival visa in Dubai? Is it true that fly dubai wont allow us to board the flight from Doha as we dont have a pre arranged visa? I have already booked Fly Dubai ticket for all us online. What should be my next step?
Waiting for answers from experienced travellers! Thank you.
are you sure about this 6 month isuue....i went to the emirates office and dey also confirmed that need to spend 6 months with RP.Pls reply
medboy, simply call the UAE embassy in Qatar and ask them. Only certain professions are permitted to the UAE. Yours seems ok, they issue visa on arrival for doctors, managers, engineers, and a few more. At Doha Airport, they will check your profession stamped on your visa first, if "unfit", they'll send you back.
Ensure your wife's status as well. Make the call.
Dear... There is no requirement for your gcc residence to be 6months old to get the onarrival. Trust me i have travelled 3 time in first 6 months. Check the Emirates website. It doesnt say a thing abt 6 months.
I went through this two weeks ago. My profession is listed as Engineer on my RP. I was told by flyDubai that because I had been resident for less than 6 months in Qatar they would not let me travel as a Visa On Arrival.
FlyDubai will arrange a visa for you with a fee, they need 7 working days to do so. Any hotel in Dubai will arrange a visa for you and your family for a fee.
I did the hotel option which cost me AED 500 and I had my visa in three days.
If you travel with either Emirates or Qatar Airways, they let you do Visa on Arrival, if your profession allows it.
I inquired with three immigration officers in Dubai, they said I was okay to travel on Visa on Arrival (even though I had been a resident of Qatar for less than 6 months).
All in all, I bought a FlyDubai ticket because I thought I would save QR400, but I spent 500 more on the Visa.
Thanks heaps for the replies.I feel that if our profession is allowed on arrival visa in Dubai, then rest depends on our ability to convince the airport staff in Doha!
Fly Dubai really sucks. Their airport staff seems to have no clue about Dubai immegration procedures and can easily ban any passenger from boarding. the airport counter has no supervisor to talk to, in case of any conflict and their main office staff are worse in cooperation.
I had a similar situation where they did not allow me to board as my RP had only 2.5 months expiry date.
I purchased a ticked on Qatar Airways and got an arrival visa at Dubai without any problem. Fly Dubai was not convinced and they seemed did not want to listen and escaped from paying back the ticket cost.
I desided to use a good reputed carrier even with double or tripple ticket fare rather than facing such irresponsible situation at the last moment.

on the whole, you will get visa on arrival as per ur profession, people make things complicate due to lack of info here, on the contrary everyone had his point of view to share.
You must need to complete 6 months to qualify yourself to get the on arrival visa. The resident permit should show that you are a professional like engineer, accountant, manager, doctors etc.
Nothing to worry.. if your profession is eligible for a gcc on arrival visa fly dubai wont stop you. Its pretty easy to get the visa in dubai.
a straight answer on this site...LOL
yes they may deny you entry depending on your profession. i was rudely denied check-in by airport staff. they did not believe that i am allowed a visa upon arrival in dubai. had to buy last minute tickets from QA which costs a fortune. long story short- i was given visa upon arrival and i emailed the admin of flydubai about the incident. nothing happened to my compaint.. hope this helps
you will get on arrival visa without any question, just you need pay there 155 Dirhems for each & fill up the form regarding info about ur stay in dubai,& you can enter dubai.
i dont know if your profession qualifies for a visa on arrival but there is no problem flying with fly dubai and taking a visa on arrival.
i had been to Dubai last month with my wife and had no problems getting a visa on arrival.
