Flydubai denied travel with valid ticket. Where to complain????????
i had booked fly dubai tiketys for me and my family from Doha to Dubai. I am an engineer and here in Doha for last 8 months and eligible to get visa on arrival at dubai airport. when I reached at the airport they denied the travel to me and my famiy telling the reason that my family RP is only 4 months old in Qatar. They told me it should be min. 6 months. When I enquired I came to know that the min. 6 months is applicable to me only, as I am the sponsor of my family. Then I had to take ticket in Emirates spending extrav QR 4200 on the same night to Dubai. They allowed me to go and at Dubai there was no problem to get visa on arrival to me and family. They even not checked the eturn ticket, my Qatari RP period, in which air line i travelled etc. They checked only my proffession and issued visa to me and family. If this is the case, why flydubai denied me travel? If prior visa is required why they didn't ask for it during booking?
Can anybody help me where to complain?
Hi there,
Sorry to hear that you've had problems with flydubai. Please send the full details of your complaint to [email protected] and we'll look into it for you.
Thanks
thanks, cherukkan
You have the right to complain. No other Airlines are checking the validity of the RP while you are getting an on arrival visa. They should have let you travel after taking a written affidavit from you that you will be responsible if Dubai Immigration is not allowing you to enter. Even the Immigration in Dubai will not check it and I dont know why Flydubai did this to you. I used to travel frequently getting the on arrival visa and I never had any such problems from Emirates or from Qatar Airways. I think the perso who was in the check in desk was not aware of the rules and regulations properly and you should submit your complaint with the copy of your tickets and should tell them that you were allowed to travel by the Airlines who did not ask for anything like that. They must give you the compensation for your suffering and financial loss. Write a strong letter to their Customer Service asking for compensation.
Ouch! Yes, you should be due some compensation if the Flydubai agent was in error (which it sounds like he/she was since Emirates allowed your family to travel.) The passenger is responsible for knowing the visa rules but the airline will face fines if they allow a passenger to travel without appropriate documentation. The rules should be clearly stated in the computer that the ticket agent is looking at. So write to Customer Service at Flydubai and ask them if their own rules were followed, if these rules are correct and if NOT, then ask for your ticket price back and the difference between your original tickets and the new ones you purchased. I wish you luck.
