How long a residence visa holder can stay outside Qatar?

My son is a residence visa holder under my sponsorship, but he has to study outside Qatar and therefore out of Qatar for more than six months.

Is this allowed? Is there a penalty for staying more than 6-months out of Qatar? how much?

I hope they(MOI) will not cancel the visa..

Father sponsor visa the children and his mother can stay out side country up to 11 month 28 days. before 12month you should enter the country. and when after 6 month over before coming you should take return visa (re-entry visa) each person should pay QR.500 The visa you can take through metrash2.

i think being a student u can get a exit permit for him for one year. u can just vist emigration section on qatar airport. there i think u have to pay QR500 for one year exit permit. with aplication form u have to give them proof that ur son is out side of country for purpose of study.i think the institute certificate will enough, where ur son is studying.i hope u got the answer.

For students upto 1year i think. you may have to show the certificate from his school or college.

by experience i have been outside qatar for 7 years with intact residence permit.

the only thing your son should be doing is be back exactly one year from the date of leaving and then get back. you as a sponsor should pay a fine for first six monthly every year he is out.

Hai...

If, in his(your Son) visa the denimination is printed as student then he can stay for one year (11months and 29 days)outside qatar,no fine no cancellation of visa.

Other denominations only 6 months maximum.

Hope it helps you...
