Indian and Nepali Visas

I was speaking to my estate agent in Qatar today, and she claims that she has someone going to the immigration dept on a daily basis to sort out visas and permits and allegedly, they have now stopped granting work visas and permits to all Indian and Nepalese nationality labourer.

Now I find this hard to believe as there is supposedly a shortage of labourers, so am inclined to think she got her facts wrong or it's just speculation, caused possibly be a delay in processing.

Can anyone shed light on this issue for me please, because if it is true, it throws a huge spanner in my works!

There might be some truth to it, I had applied for some visas... Indian, Sri Lankans and Nepalese... they cleared only Sri Lankan visas... this was just one week back...

Indian visas have always been difficult to get but Nepalese were supposed to be easy to get... but now am not sure...

But to give you some hope, there are certain sectors like construction, IT where these visas are given off more liberally... and also if you have a powerful sponsor, it might help...
