Is it possible for a russian 22 year old student (female) to get to Qatar (Doha)?

Hello everybody! I need to get to Qatar at the end of January 2012 for 1 week or so. My bf (non qatarian)lives there, so I don't need to book a hotel (before applaying for a tourist visa booking a hotel is neсessary). But I've heard that it's impossible for a russian girl of my age to get a visa easily (especially after events with our russian ambassador, who was attacked in the airport). Is there any way to get an invitation or may be some of you could tell me how to get visa?

Probably what you also can do is to book your visa through an airline (Qatar Airways) but for that you need to select only from a list of 5 star hotels, and as your accomodation already exists, I would suggest you try one of the Hotels less expensive. Also, you cant get a refund for example, I know we couldnt when my husband came here and we didnt utilize the room, but of course paying for one night wont be that costly.

Well I made a visit visa for my husband before..we booked one night in hotel and visa fee, so when you arrive you show a return ticket and the hotel visa paper. The hotel doesnt normally reveal how many days the stay is for, even passport control didnt ask my husband for the paper, just the return ticket. there is however a certain amount of money you have to carry in cash as a visitor, but with that said, he was travelling from Dubai and I dont know where your at. Anyways you need to email a Hotel and get the info they require these days, I did mine since long back and wouldnt know if rules have changed recently. You have to come as visitor, and only way I think you dont need to book Hotel is if you have received an invitation from a Qatari. Hope this helps.

The main problem is that as soon as he is not a qatarian, he can't send an invitation. (At least someone told him this) And also I dont want to book a hotel, since I can stay in his appartment. May be the following is possible: I book a hotel for 2 nights, but the hotel sends me an invitation for 10 nights. What you think about it? Is it possible to ask a manager of a hotel to do it? Do you know someone?

Your age has nothing to do with it, thats first thing. Secondly, if your country is having political problems, contact your Embassy in Qatar en ask. Thirdly, if your intent is to visit your bf, how else you want to do it as visitor, youre not going to work and family sponsor is not an option. If your bf is already here, why doesnt he find all this out for you??
