I know, this question was asked many times here. I simply could not find the latest posting on this subject. So my apologies if I force someone to repeat his/her reply.

I am planning to drive to UAE and later to Jordan. Obviously, I'll drive through Saudi Arabia.
Where I should apply for KSA transit visa and how long it takes to obtain for Canadian passport holder ?
Should I change/upgrade my car insurance for those trips ?

nothing but a single visit to KSA empesy near Qtel tower

it takes few menuts

but abu dabi is far way to Jurdan

you are talking abou 500 KM each way extar

almost 1000 km unessesy extention

There are numarous travel agencies that will supply you with the transit visa at a cost of QR125 to QR150. It will take between 3 to 5 work days to get the visa. Insurance for your car can only be obtained on the Saudi border at a cost of QR70 valid for 10 days. Longer insurance is available at a higher cost.
