As of this month January 2012 is it still possible to apply for a visa upon arrival?

Hello everyone,

I hope all of you are well. I was wondering if it was necessary to apply for a tourist visa to visit Qatar while I am still in the US or if the option to get it at the airport was still available? I may apply before departing just in case. I am an American citizen and I will be traveling alone I am also a woman. I'm not sure if any of that will be an issue I'm sure it won't but just to be on the safe side. I was hoping to spend about a week or so in Doha for vacation.

Oh that's good to hear thank you so much guys. My only concern was it's such a long flight from the US to Qatar and God forbid something went wrong and if for whatever reason customs refused to issue the tourist visa it would be quite a fiasco to have to go home again.

If you hold an American passport...visa on arrival is fine.
