any person coming to every country are having the so called "medical examination". I believed before he was given a visa he had undergone thesame procedure, so, if he is having this illness that you are saying he is already back to his place of origin. but rare cases i've encountered is some of them had been infected before or either they have a scars on their lungs and they need to take some medicines for them to be sure it will not become active, but not that too scary as what you are expecting.Dont too much over acting, Doctors know's better than us...If they found out he has active TV, for sure they will send him back to his country....
there are strains of TB that ARE incurable since they have become resistant to the strong antibiotics that have been used against the basic strain of TB. The ways to transmit TB are as Azi said, although the most common way is by the infected person COUGHING as the spittle goes through the air as an almost microscopic size spray, and the other person inhaling it, which is why it was so prevalent in the early part of the last century. TB has made a very strong comeback in the past 15 years with the problems of illegal aliens coming into the US..which is why I know about this..when he was 6 years old,my son was exposed to TB by a China national(yes, there WAS a way to track how it was exposed in this case) and now tests positive each time he gets the TB test, although he went through the entire series of antibiotics. People who test positive, whether they've been treated for past positive results or from an innoculation, will always have to have the chest xray done to verify that there are no active nodules inside the lungs.
Ask this guy if he's been on meds for it, but I have to say please report this person because if you just ask them, and they are scared that they will be deported due to this, they WILL lie..and that will spread the disease in this country.
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.
He will not be deported. Is there a law? Instead, he will be sent to Rumaillah Hospital for treatment, and he can go back to his work soon with the doctor's recommendation. He will spread the disease unless he starts with medication. Go to Hamad Hospital at the earliest.
Honestly TB is not really that scarry , once it is treated it will not spread . Beside you cannot be in this country without a medical certificated. Which means that person's TB has been cured already or else it will show in the test that the bactria is still active. It's better to ask the person directly if his/her TB was teated already.
curable. Infection or spread of the disease would be accidentally using the patient's food/eating utensils or being in close exposure to the person.
Incubation period would be 1-2 months taking into consideration the immune resistance of the person.
For the patient himself, it'll take him 6 months to 12 months of antibiotic treatment before he could fully recuperate.
If this person is your friend, talk to him. Reporting him directly to the authorities is jeopardizing his job, life and indirectly affect his family back home whom he is supporting by working here.

Ask him to go to Rumailla Hospital - communicable disease centre. He will be treated with state of Art medicine for free. He will not be deported.

talk to him first to confirm the status of his disease... it wouldn't be fair to report him right away...
