Let me introduce myself as Mangesh working in m/s Consolidated Gulf Company,Doha(Qatar).I was brought herein Doha on Bussiness visa expired on 20th Oct. 2010.I tried to leave the company on 16th october 2010.But the company has asked me to give the notice period of 30 days and My original passport has been taken for converting the Bussiness visa into Resident permit.
After this, there is new slip showing text as "New Visa Number: 032010140889"
& "Change date: 18/10/2010" and "Stay expiry: 16/01/2010".
There are few questions in my mind for which I need the answers.
1.Is this new text "New Visa Number: 032010140889" is for visa of Resident permit? Please explain what is it?

2.Can I leave the country on this visa?

Please be informed that i am in urgent need for help.So I would appreciate your quick and kind response to my question.

Thanks
Regards
Mangesh

Who can help me in this case?

Should I go to Indian consulate or Labour court, if I don't want RP on my passport?

you are in a perfect bind. they will make you stick here for 3 months using this way. you dont need an exit permit if you are on business visa. take your passport and just leave.

1- the slip must be showing the expiry date as Jan-2011 not Jan-2010.

2- the number is the new visa number which is either a renewal of your old Business visa or a new visit visa. but it is not an RP number

3- sure you can travel anytime but after obtaining Exit permit from the sponser.
