I am hoping the Qatar embassy change this idea of not issuing visa to none citizens of the country from which they are applying from . i had gone to apply for a visa to Qatar but i was told to call in two months time because they stopped issuing visa to none citizens of the country from which they are applying the visa from. hmm... i wonder why... i hope they change it and give visa to people with the right documents in hand.

If you are a legal resident in country "B", while being a citizen of country "A". You can apply from country "B" for a qatari visa. However, if you are only a visitor in country "B" or an illegal resident, then they will deny you the visa.

Hope this helps.

Why do people always give asinine responses on this forum, is it an Asian thing not to read questions well before flaming the poster? Only "Translator" gave a good response.

Everyone knows you need a visa to visit another country unless your country is exempted.

But the original question is, I'm a citizen of country "A" and I'm presently in country "B" and I want to travel to Qatar from my present location but I was told have have to return to country "A" to apply.

perric7, a lot of countries maintain the policy issuing visas only from the home country of the intending visitor, however, as in all visa matters, there are exemptions to the rule if you include in your application a suitable reason why you can't return to your own country to apply.

Translator... for the asian cup they were giving visa to almost every one who was applying online. But if they see or smell something fishy they can still block you in airport immigration. I believe they will follow the same policy in 2022.

That is not just Qatar embassies doing that. I am a US citizen with permanent residency in Qatar. Before I became a resident of Qatar, I was denied visa at the Syrian embassy here. But after that I was granted the visa.

There are bilateral agreements among nations regarding visa issuance, which must be followed.

I am afraid that the 2022 thing will make people cry for everything Qatar does, and doesn't.

I am talking about citizens of Qatar. Only Qataris are citizens. And they don't need a visa.
