I am planning to bring my family here soon. My son does'nt have a passport yet and on checking with the Passport Office in Chennai, India we were told that I should provide an affidavit attested by the Indian Embassy here in qatar to apply for my son's passport. Can someone help me how i should go about doing this with the embassy here and the documents required and time frame. Who prepares the affidavit (any format available with the embasy)Do i have to carry my original passport to the embassy or will my Qatar ID do.Also the cost for the attestation.

i am in qatar while my family is in india now...

my son is 3 yrs old..

should i carry his original birth certificate (becos the original is in india)

and is my wife's pp copy also compulsary..

could you also tell me the time frame and the cost too..
