Hi all

I have a query that has been raised many times but i am each time i am more confused as i read varying responses.

The medical test done for resident visa includes:

Agreed with no differences:

Xray for TB
Blood test for HIV

Confusion:

Blood test for Hep B and A?

I have been told, yes, no and yes for medical/food workers?
I have even tried calling the medical commision direct to which i get sent to differnt people with no straight answer.

Please help! i have an offer from a company i Qatar and i know i have the serface antigen for Hep B (passed on by my mother) but it is inactive. will i be rejected or not following medical based on this?

Thanks

OK, well the answer appears to be that she cannot join me on a residence permit. We have been advised that the way to approach this is to apply for a multiple entry visitors visa for her, and then talk to the ministry later about upgrading.

I have also recently been offered a job in Qatar, and my wife is a Hep B carrier. The most recent information above seems to point to the fact that she will be OK for a residency permit, provided that she is not working in medical/food fields. (In fact, it is not the intention that she will be working at all, initially at least).

Whilst the above info certainly seems more authoritative than info I have previosuly seen, it seems there is no definitive evidence (e.g. links on the internet).

Can anyone assist further? The way it looks now, we will need to take the medicals before I resign my current job.

My case is the same as your, but i don't have offer because i don't want to waste my time and i know that i will no be able to get the work permit because of the medical examination for Hep B, but i started seeing a hope when they mentioned that it is required for ceartin jobs.

But i need to know what is happened with you in order to consider searching for a job in Doha or not !!

My friend Hep B testing is only for Medical and Food Industry workers.

If youre not in the above category then you will be cleared.

Cheers

Thanks Zaguzagu

this is what i have heard that if you are not in medical industry then you may be ok. I my self am an engineer in the construction industry. So you are saying that the company itself may have the final say if it is +ve for hep B and i am not in the food/medical industry?

If you are Hepa B reactive: they cannot issue a certificate..and will eventually be denied for a Residence Permit. so sad..but reality bites..

In the other hand, try other country where they allow Reactives and Poz to work.. they just issue a special permit.

God bless you!
