Hi. I am new to Doha and I am working in a construction firm for the past 6 months. I have found another company with good salary as in my present company I am unable to bring my family. My doubt is if i cancel my visa and return to my home country, will i be able to come back and take up the new job. My company has mentioned that they cannot give me a NOC for change of sponsorship (called release I guess). Can anyone clarify
1. if i cancel my visa and exit then the employer's visa is not lost (I mean the visa quota for his company) and he can use that visa to appoint someone else. But if it is “change of sponsorship” then he loses his visa. If my present employer does not lose his visa then i could convince him to provide me with a NOC so that i can move to the new company.
2. Is there a restriction of minimum period of 1 year before I can cancel my present visa and then come back again?
3. What is the minimum salary needed in order to bring my family on residence?
Please do share the info as i find it very difficult without my family.
Regards,
Sunny

I learnt last march the ammended labor law has been released, if your company cannot give you the NOC then you have to go out from Qatar then you will be eligible to come back after finishing 2 years. SF25 is correct with that info. Getting your immediate family members is ok and it doesn't require any salary bracket! im sure you will not have the guts to get your family if you are already aware to the capacity of your income right?

first of all, if u cancel your visa now it will take 2 years before you can come back.secondly, transfer of sponsorship can only be done after a period of 2 years with your current sponsor but if you will be issued a NOC you might be able to work for a new company. and last but not the least, you need to have a salary of QAR7000/month to be able to get your family a residence visa...
