Police clearance attestation

I got a job at a govt. organization. They require me to get my documents attested by the MoFA and the Qatar Embassy in my country (pakistan).

In my city (Karachi) there is the qatar consulate and the embassy is in Islamabad.

I have called both the embassy, consulate and a few agencies in pakistan. They all ask me to avail the services of the consulate for attestation of my police clearance and other documents. As it is the same thing.

However my employer insists i should send them to the embassy just to be on the safe side. However i am a bit cautious as sometimes documents go missing in post and in any case it will take 2 weeks for my documents to get attested from islamabad.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you think attestation by the Qatar Consulate is enough and the same thing as attestation by the Qatar Embassy?

I understand the process and have followed it:

My police clearance certificate (PCC) has already been made and attested by the ministry of foreign affairs. I just want to know about the next step now : if i get it attested by the qatar consulate in my city would it be the same thing as getting it attested by the embassy.

Is attestation/stamp by the embassy and consulate the same thing? and acceptable for visa purposes?

Hi,

The best option is to go to Ministry of Foreign Affair in Karachi and receive their endorsement on your credentials than take the endorsed documents to Qatar Embassy and submit for their attestation.

Another option is to reach Qatar on Visit Visa and attest documents here.

For police clearance attain Police Clearance Certificate from your local SP Circle Office, attest the same from Foreign Office and than to Qatar Embassy.

Hope this will help.
