A (client) company that I know for has problems getting visas for Indian engineers since about a year. This hole is now being filled with so called "engineers" from a certain north african arab country, causing serious damage to the company reputation. An Indian freind who owns and operates a large restaurant chain (all over the middle east) has problems getting visas for Indian cooks and chefs in Qatar. Currently he's filling the gap with Nepali cooks and is not happy about the situation.Bottomline - yes, there is a problem getting Indian visas, regardless of what out cleaner hirer (above) says or does not say.

and say that Indian visas atleast for white collar is not that easy to get. Our sponsors are influential so we dont have problems as of now. Maybe Momentas quota for Indian visas is over.

Gasarene - Yes. That could be the case.

Blastfreezer,as i mentioned,a LARGE part depends on the company/sponsor applying for those visas,so it is completely possible that all Indian visa applications from your employer are granted while none from someone else's are...

Gadarene - These workers have not come to manage things at workplace on their own. I have also hired 75 Supervisors and 3 Managers from India to supervise the operations for which they were hired.

I have read this somewhere else on QL but not sure whats the source but Iam positive that there is absolutely no issue with Indian visas for last atleast six months.

ok before this gets out of hand,i think we can agree that the OP is not a CLEANER?...i didn't mention what i was referring to because i thought it was obvious,my apologies for the assumption...so rephrase if i may,WHITE COLLAR position Indian visas are NOT easy to get, that is a fact...Yes job titles aren't my forte, just like i'm safely assuming intra-oral surgery isn't yours,so to each their own my friend...yes it's clear to me,hope that's mutual...

Cleaner is a proper designation in the job market my friend. They are categorised as Window Cleaner, Industrial Cleaner and Office Cleaner in our case. Housekeeping Staff work in hospitality whereas we employ CLEANERS. And you never mentioned what you were referring to above.

Anyways, job titles are clearly not your forte. But my response was specific to the #Nationality# and Visa issue only. Hope it is clear now.

@ blastfreezer, can we safely assume the OP is not a 'CLEANER'?!...when i said case to case basis,i wasn't referring to blue collar positions...& excuse my ignorance, but what the hell is a 'CLEANER'??? i presume you're referring to housekeeping staff?...

Indian visas are given on a case to case basis, they're not being distributed left, right & centre like they used to be...@ blastfreezer, don't know where you're getting your info. from mate but it's a bit incorrect!...you're right in saying "there is no issue" because there isn't,they're just not giving Indian visas that's all!...unless one has a powerful sponsor or can prove to the immigration & labour dept. that the person is specialized in their particular field & the company really needs them...

Appointment Letter to Overseas candidates is not a job gaurantee. You must wait for the visa to come before you get rid of your existing job mate. this is Middle East and most things are uncertain.

It's not cheating if they dont get you here. It's called change of mind. Maybe they found a better candidate.
