Recruiting a new housemaid

We wish to recruit a housemaid for our family. Can anyone inform us about the process and/or procedure to recruit a housemaid by ourselves / through an agency. Which one is the best solution, by own or through agency.

Even though I have seen some posts about the same subject, but they are quite old. There might have been so many changes by this time.

Appreciate the replies soon

There is a national minimum agreed between the two governments. I think it is 1,100 but may be more.

Choose nationality carefully, and do not overpay. Non-Filipina should not receive more than 700 a month to start or you risk problems.
