Residence Permit - Family/Documents/Procedure

Doha2Dubai
By Doha2Dubai

Hi All,

Just got a query regarding the documents required and the procedure for applying the Residence permit for my family.

My family is here in Doha on Visit visa from last six months and now i would to like to apply for Residence permit permit, Kindly provide the list of documents required and step by step procedure for applying the RP.

I called them on visit as i was not having the bank statements with me, now am having the six months bank statements.

When i have to carry out the medical and finger printing? Is that to be done before applying RP?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance,

Regards.

hi guys! could anybody give me a definite answer to my queries? thank you so much in advance...Here's our situation: Oct.2013 when my husband arrived in Qatar via visit visa.It was his employer to be, the one who asked him to do such kind of arrangement and just this month of January 2014 got his pataqa(dont know if i spell it correctly)..And i dont know why it took that long for his company to process his working visa.Anyways i feel relieved now that he has his pataqa...I would just like to ask if it is possible for him to apply a husbands visa for me even he dont have a house contract under his name?or a proof of billing that he could present?if possible what are the things that he need to accomplish then?the rest of requirements are met and can be provided aside from the above mentioned problem...Thank you so much and hope for your immediate answer...

Hi tinkerbell10! I am a Filipina, planning to bring my kids here in Doha, just wanna know if it is possible to get a resident permit for them prior coming here? Or is it family personal visa first that I need to get? Your earliest reply will be appreciated. :) "The law applies to all, otherwise none at all".

any body could tell me:

where should I make the payment?

How much is the fee?

What do I need to take with me for the payment?

& finally what do I do next?

Anyone could answer the above question will be very helpfull & much appriciated.

Hi tinkerbell10! I want to transfer my wife's sponsorship from her father to mine as our baby is born in Qatar this june. once I went to immigration & spoke to the captain with whatever required documents I had with myself so as I am new to qatar he asked me only to bring 2 or 3 months bank statement of 10k salary & attested educational certificates to get visa ransferred but now I heard from many people that there is a requirement of employment contract to get the work done. but I am unable to provide my employment contract due to a less salary than 10k. will it be an issue if I go and try without employment contract?

Hi Tinkerbell,

Really need your help.

My family is currently located in Dubai and my husband has got an offer in Doha-planning to take it up, but a lot of questions looming in the mind like the rest of the guys here.

He is offered 10500QR along with a two bedroom apt and he has to join by mid-october. my kid will start school in April as she is 21/2 now.

If we need to have 6months bank stmt to apply for an RP and if the schools wont take my kid in without an RP what is the work around?

What are the chances of getting an RP with 3-4 months bank stmt? and if it gets rejected, how long do we have to wait until the next application?

Thank you!!

Thanks dear Tinkerbell and nolimit.

It is not very clear -

as for attestations, have the "to whoever it may concern" letter and labor contract attested from ministry of labor. wife's educational certificate is not required, only you (the sponsor)

Does my educational certificate needs attestation?

I have already service contract, does it needs attestation?

i applied last month for my wife's RP. although i have a tenancy contract and i had it with me, i gave it to the counter but she returned it and asked only for Kahramaa bill (which was under my name).

as for attestations, have the "to whoever it may concern" letter and labor contract attested from ministry of labor. wife's educational certificate is not required, only you (the sponsor) as tinkerbell10 already replied.

Thanks Tinkerbell for detail information. Just a query,

If wife is coming as house wife, does her education certificate needs attestation?

Is sponsor certification too needs attestation?

I one has valid house agreement as well copy of latest electricity bill in sponsors’ name, even then one need to go for Municipality attestation?

The process for her visa has been started and when i put the application number on metrash online it says "application under review". If she gets the family visa soon and her rp is not processed before mid december and we leave for vacation. Once were back in qatar will her family visa be void as shes left the country and does not have an rp?

Thanks again

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF HER FAMILY VISA RIGHT NOW?.WAS HER FAMILY VISA ON PROCESS nOW?..ONCE YOU BOTH GUYS LEAVE THE COUNTRY ,,WHEN U COME BACK , U WILL START AGAIN FROM THE BEGINNING, AND U WILL HAVE TO GET ANOTHER TOURIST VISA FOR YOUR WIFE WHILE YOUR PROCESSING BOTH FAMILY VISA (VISIT OR RESIDENCY rP)BUT IF U ALREADY STARTED HER FAMILY VISA ALL U HAVE TO DO IS TO DO THE FOLLOW-UP ONLINE AT www.moi.gov.qa

Thanks for the reply Chatty.

My company has done all of the paperwork for her visa and im assuming its the family residence visa as once this visa has been granted (currently application under review) the next step for her will be medical and then finger printing for her RP. She needs her passport and RP doing before mid december as i have flights booked for a vacation. Otherwise i will have to delay the rp process which i dont want to do because i cant risk not having her passport back to leave for vacation as it is tied up in the rp process.

IF SHE'S ON FAMILY VISIT VISA WITH YOU, YOU CAN ASK RETURN VISA TO IMMIGRATION AS LONG AS YOUR WIFE'S VISA AINT EXPIRED YET..(6MONTHS),,BECAUSE IT DEPENDS ON WHAT KIND OF VISA SHE HAD. CAUSE FAMILY VISIT VISA IS DIFFERENT FROM FAMILY RESIDENCE VISA (HUSBAND SPONSORSHIP FOR 5YRS I THINK)...

If she has a family visa, can she leave the country and return 2 weeks later still on that family visa? Or does the family visa expire and become void once you leave the country.

Many thanks again

Hi Tinkerbell,

You seem as if you are very informed in the process of rp applications. Please could you possibly answer a query i have. I got my rp 4 weeks ago and have applied through my company for my wifes family visa for the purpose of rp. She is already here on a tourist visa which we have extended and is expiring in 2 weeks. However i assume her famly visa will likely be accepted and therefore she wont have to leave the country and simply get the visa changed to a family visa in her passport.

However, we have flights booked for a vacation in mid december and my company have informed me that they wont have her rp process completed by then and have asked me to do it myself as it would ne much quicker as they batch process all employee applications.

My idea was for my wife to leave the country when her tourist visa expires and do a day return to dubai. However upon her arrival back into Doha, would she be allowed to gain another tourist visa? Or will immigration stamp her newly accepted family visa in her passport?

If she gets her family visa accepted within the few days does she have to use it immediately in her passport or can she use that visa when she arrives back to qatar in january? and continue to use a tourist visa to remain in the country?

If we change her visa now and then we leave for vacation in december when she arrives back in january, will her family visa have expired as she left the country? or is it multiple exit and entry within the duration of the visa period?

As in january she would have much more time to gain her Rp as we wont be leaving the country any time soon.

Apologies for the long winded messsage but your help would be crucial in helping us make a decision.

Kind regards

y2mash

Tinkerbell10, you are awesome - i love genuine information and people that can make such information available. Thanks for the great information of required documents you listed above.

Same here - Now i am having my family here on family visit visa and wants to process for their resident permit when my account is up to six months. The fact is they came when my account statement was just 4 months and i obtained a visit visa for 5 months in other to have enough time to process their RP.

Kindly advise please I hope this can be done without them leaving the country?

Advice me as if i don't have a PRO please. Thanks.

Thanks very much as i look forward to your candid response and knowledge based information.
