resignation after 1 year

hi, my has been here in Qatar for exactly 1 year on september 12 with a 2 year contract. i would like to ask that can he pass his resignation on August, a month before his 1 year anniversary and effective on october. according to his contract if he resigns after more than a year the company would shoulder his way back to his country? and will he be able to get a sort of certificate of employment here? im sorry im not familiar with the labor law here for i had only been here barely 3 months :D thanks for reading and im waiting for any response..thanks again...

wow..thANKs for all the replies..really appreciate it...if he pass his resignation on august and the reflectivity is on october..does that cover the 1 year he is with the company?because according to his contract if he resigns within 1year he has to shoulder the ticket for himself but if he resigns after a year and less than 2 years the company would shoulder it. thanks again every answers has been appreciated so much
yes he can resign when ever he wants. Normally a company issues an experience certificate only to those who has completed at least one year of service. Your friend will get minimum 1 yr employment ban in Qatar if he resigns now.
Depends on his contract. Generally, if one wishes to leave before the stipulated contract period (2yrs in your friend's case), ticket will not be provided.
There are cases some management shoulder portion or full ticket cost for the benefit of certain recognized employees.
Of course he is entitled for a certificate.
If he want to work here he should get NOC from the present sponsor and need new visa also as per law he has to work 2 years with the first company then he can change the sponsorship but need old sponsor's approval (NOC & signed change of sponsorship form)
He can resign anytime after he joins. usually companies have a 3 month or 6 month probation period where an employee or employer can terminate the contract and serve three days notice.
he can also resign upon completion of one year as is the case you have mentioned. but let him check with the company if they are going to pay him the ticket, his one year vacation encashment and the indemnity/gratuity upon completion of a year which is a minimum of 21 days per year.
in your case if he is completing one year in september and he resigns in August, the company sometimes will not pay the vacation and indemnity.

hi he can reisgn and go any time. but with out an NOC from his current company he cant get a new job in qatar further there will be a 2 year employment ban too as per the law.
What exactly do you want ? Your friend can resign if he wants - any time and he can go back
