These days the companies are returning the passports to the employee, what is the cause and what may be the benifits

jeezz..it's illegal for the employers to get and keep your passport..what's the sense to it?anyway if someone wants to go outside the country, he/she will not leave the country is he/she doesn't have clearance or permit to travel, right??

The Penalty is QR 10,000/- for keeping your employee's passport illegaly.

A passport is an official government document issued to you by the government of your own country. It is illegal for anyone to take it away from you. If someone holds your passport against you will report it to your embassy. It would make things interesting for the sponsor!

Because they are not supposed to keeping their employees' passports... and yet, there are still those stubborn ones who do not follow this rule..

There were this cases in Libya and Kuwait earlier of sponsors having fled themselves and nobody having a clue where the passports of the workers are so maybe people learning from the past experiences

No company is allowed to hold your passport..thats the rule here. So may be they just came to know about this rule and are giving back the passports.

maybe you will be sent home by your employer soon. or maybe they will run and close the company without any notice.
