RP on a new passport??
I have applied for RP for my wife, and already medical and finger done. But my name is not included against spouse name in her passport, so i want to apply for that in the indian embasssy here, then they will issue a new passport, will this affect the RP application procedure?? or can they stamp RP in the new passport (The passport number will be different)?? or i have to postpone the application for new passport?? ...Please advise if some one tackled same situation.
Thanks in advance!!!
it should be okay-if ur wife is under your approved sponsorship even not in your name..
same with me,i am under husband sponsorship, but my passport is still on my name when i was single, and i dont have any problem with that....
I am planning to change my passport too but it could wait till my passport expires for the next few years and change everything including my name and if it may allow happen we would still be here that time also my RP..
but for now..its all and everything okay since they have approved it under your sponsorship.
dont bother with a new passport presently..even my situation was the same,no problem with kids future..wen u go to renew the passport if it expires, then they include husband`s name..right nw let rp be stamped in the present PP only
Thank you for your answer. i heard that, if my name is not included in my wife's passport, i'll not be able to get visa for our child in future. So little bit curious to know abt this.Thank you once again.
As far as my knowledge goes, not having your name in your wife's PP should not be a hold up for your RP. You would not have got a visa to bring your wife in , if that was a hold up. Its simple logic, I am not sure of this though. If you need to include your name, then the Indian Embassy will issue a new passport, but the existing one will be cancelled. If you have already got the RP stamped in your wife's existing passport, you can always get it re-stamped in the new passport by approaching the Immigration Dept. Better let the RP process continue as it is. Go for a new passport only when u need to.
