Sponsorship for child born outside marriage

Help please!

I am an Australian lady planning to move to Qatar soon with my 6 year-old daughter. We have been living in the UAE for some years, where I have been working.

I never married my daughter's father, and we separated some years ago. I do not have a marriage or divorce certificate for this reason. I will earn a salary sufficient to sponsor her (over QR 20,000 per mth), but will this be permitted since my daughter was born out of a marriage??

Help please - I do not want to arrive in Qatar, sign rental and car leases, receive my residence visa only to find out when I want to sponsor her I cannot, or worse, that I may face penalties or deportation.

Hi,

You will not have problems. Also, your company can help you as they will have contacts. In the worst case situation, you daughter can enter as a visitor as we Aussies have 30 day visa automatically issued at the airport. Your company can fix it in the 30 days.

Best wishes and welcome to Qatar and Merry Christmas

Regards

Rsai

dear all they need here is her birth certificate stamped certain stamps, the marriage certificate is asked here if you gonna sponsor you husband or wife, but the case of a kid nothing needed more than her birth certificate and vaccination card to admission to schools here and ofcourse you can sponsorship her, she's your daughter after all despite from marriage or non marriage relationship, also they ask for the marriage certificate in case you gonna give birth to a new baby

As long as you're non Arab citizen, and both of you holding an Australian passports which it proves the relationship between you as a mother and Daughter, So… all the additional required docs.if there's!! it would be getting from your embassy in U.A.E.

Since here in Qatar there's no Australian embassy i suggest you to double check @ your Embassy in Abu Dhabi or @ its consulate in Dubai As far as you’re already in U.A.E with your daughter you will follow almost the same procedures when you had sponsored her in U.A.E lately, as it’s implemented in all GCC’s emigration and similar rules and legislation.

Merry X-Mas for both of you and best wishes

Welcome to QATAR.

GodFather.

There are a few people who are in the same situation. If you can get the letter from the father. Should be ok. Well at the Birth Certificate should have the fathers name on it.

I know at least 2 actually 4 people working here in your situation and there has been no problem sponsoring their children. However, I do think you will need a letter of no objection from the childs father, saying he is happy with the situation. Hope this helps
