Would like your current experiences on obtaining a Residence Permit. Am trying to get an idea how long it will take once I arrive in Qatar, so don't want old examples.

How long after you set foot in the country did you have your medical test and fingerprinting? And is the speed of process determined by your own company's HR department, or is it a standard time frame?

Also how long after you handed in your paperwork did the Residence Permit come through? Does it vary a lot? Are there any official & unofficial ways to make the process faster? ie using influence, chasing everyday etc etc.

I would like a Residence Permit as fast as possible. What is your best advice for getting this?

Oh and Ramadan is coming up. We got here just before Ramadan and it took about 3 months to complete the process and get our RP because when Ramadan is going on, the paperwork practically stops. Then there is a backlog of stuff from that entire month.

1) you have to apply for WORK visa

> It will take 2 days

2) After ur arrival, you have to apply for residence permit (RP) stamping , for that process you have to finish medical check up and finger print formality.

3) for medical and finger print, you may need 4 days to finish.

Which mean, if you are applying for work visa and residence permit, It will take 10 days maximim to finish all proceedure and to get RP Stamping along with ID card.

Cheers !!
