I came from Immigration (Airport) yesterday & they told me they have stopped giving visa extension for 6 months. They told me to go to Immigration(Garaffa). I went there (Building #3 - 2nd floor)and I was told there is a now new rule that dependents can stay outside Doha for a year as long they have a valid RP. There is no need extend it for another 6 months. Instead, they will just issue a return permit valid for 14 days. Ideally, the sponsor should apply for this 1 week before the scheduled return of his dependents to Doha.

You can extend their stay (out of qatar) for another 6 months by paying QR500 in the immmigration airport.

They can stay more than six month our of Qatar... but before they come here, u need to visit airport immigration to pay for penalty of QRs. 500/.. its almost the same as re entry or revalidation of their visa,, allowing them to re enter Qatar.
