In a news paper I have seen it is quoted "Qatar has instituted a temporary ban on business and working visas for Filipinas entering the country

Does anyone have a clear idea and new update regarding the ban? Who are affected and until when the ban will be in effect?

I have just had my work visa applied last Nov 27 by Qatar Airways. Would it have a big effect on me?

Please help! Thanks.

i already had business visit but i had it last november 6.. i am going to qatar but i am confused if when i'll be in qatar there is a possibility that i can land a job because of the visa ban.. DO i need to worry? I am a nurse.. my work is in qatar.. I applied as direct hire in Hamad hospital. and my mother had doctor who owned a polyclinic where i could also apply. as soon as I'll be in qatar I could go to the HR for an interview.. Do i need problem the visa ban issue?

Firstly, if you had taken time to search the forum, you would have found a number of thread on this matter.

Secondly, the Visa bans are for Filipina MAIDS ON PERSONAL SPONSOR - not companies

Thirdly, I find it very odd that Qatar Airways, one of the largest employers of Filipinos in the country is having a problem getting visas.

And last but not least. Your attitude towards the initial posters regarding English in the main forum, stinks. If you don't want to adhere to forum guidelines, do not post here.

There are rules and regulations regarding posting language. Accept them or move on!

THAT would be 3 weeks to a month or so.

What you need is patience...loads of it.

richelle29

even for my friends who applied before they say they don't have ready visa and all that i have talked to said QA always have a long time processing the visas..

richelle29

the company applied a new visa for me.. they don't have visa on hand with them....

By azilana7037• 10 Dec 2012 15:28
azilana7037

for Richelle?

Or the company already have a visa and applied to assign this visa for Richelle?

If its the former....well, it'll be 3 weeks to a month, hopefully

If it's the latter, it should take 1 week.

So which is which?

By richelle29• 10 Dec 2012 12:04
richelle29

it is applied on Nov. 27 but as what my coordinator told me and it will take 2-3 weeks process since they don't have ready visa.

By anonymous• 9 Dec 2012 18:12

so you mean it was not realy aplied on nov. 27 as you said before. but at least the coordinate with you now.

therefore i conclude that most people here likes or more interested on criticizing others rather than giving useful ideas. those who criticized dont even participated on answering her questions but able to give out of the topic comments ..to think of a brilliant idea is so hard but the I--t one is easy..

robert serano, you said it is so simple but it is not the rule of the main forum. If different languages are posted then it is going to be very difficult and the thread will get deleted.

the issue on the language used is already settled... so if you still want to talk about it please not here. as i have said earlier PLEASE stick on the topic...

come on guys give her a break, dont add up to her worries. what is wrong us talking with our native language. if you dont like it then dont read it, its just that simple period its over.

excuse me all i want here is a reliable answer on my question. you are the one who started this issue and now you are telling me of bad attitude and no respect? this is my point here to stick on to the topic and not divert it to some other topic which is not related to my question. Everyone here is waiting for an answer that we can see the real story coz we don't have the access to get it from the immigration.

By richelle29• 5 Dec 2012 14:50
richelle29

britexpat please just stick on the topic... if you want to make this ENGLISH language topic in a forum like this just make on your own. All we need here is a clear answer/view on the topic TEMPORARY BAN ON FILIPINO VISAS rather than diverting it to that. If you have any info about the topic it is much better to give it to us. If the admin here don't want my answer they have the right to remove it.

You make a valid point. However, this is a public forum and thus english is the language for all postings. It allows everyone to folow the thread and understand the flow.

If you want to use a different language, then it should be in the particular group..

tahsinmim i just answered in FILIPINO-english coz the question was asked thru the same manner by robert. by the way the topic here was for FILIPINO VISAS and not the language you need to write on the forum. if you have sensible answer on my question even if its in another language I woundn't mind rather than just agreeing on some other opinion like what you are doing.

tahsinmin-

do you know what is english or not? in her main forum, in was written in english. even if you answer it in filipino or any dialect as long as the QUESTION IS WRITTEN IN ENGLISH there is no problem about. as what you said. ENGLISH IN MAIN FORUM. it is written in english.

@jiane karyll yes in the article it is obvious for domestic helpers but the company of my friend applied for visas of skilled workers but they were rejected just last week

hi richelle, just posted the same here in the forum. I was so worried in the past days because of the issue. According to some yes it is but it would depend on the company how they will manage. My visa was filed last Nov. 26 and was approved on 28. But just today the company called me and said the visa was finally released. so let's hope for the best for you.

By richelle29• 4 Dec 2012 17:44
richelle29

I haven't got any call or email from the company regarding this issue. Just only knew it today with my friend, he ask me if i don't have any issue about my visa.

I just hope everything will be back to normal again...

By alexam• 4 Dec 2012 17:44

As far as I know your profession is not included in the ban. It's only for domestic helpers and semi-skilled workers. It has something to do with their salary.
