Hello Everyone ...

My husband has recently accepted a job in Qatar ... We r waiting for his Work Visa to arrive ...

- I would like to know whether its possible for me (his wife) and our son to go to Qatar with him on his initial arrival in Qatar? Supposedly getting the tourist visa through Qatar Airways ... If so, what will be the process of getting the tourist visa through Qatar Airways?

- Also can this tourist visa be transferred to Family Residence Permit (R.P) easily? If so, what will the procedure be? I would like someone to give me a step-by-step detail of the procedure of transferring tourist visa into family visa ... where to go ... what documents to take ... how long would it take ... etc.

- I have a Pakistani passport but currently live in Kuwait therefore also have Kuwaiti residence permit ... Will there be a problem in having 2 GCC residence permits ...

Thanks a lot in advance to anyone who replies ...

Regards

Hi white rose,

Your husband is not able to sponsor you either in visit ( 6 months or permanent family visa until he gets RP in Qatar. The employer ( if he has solid source )of the company where your husband employed can help you applying visit visa in his personal name with special permission from naturalization dept or if you have any relatives ( blood relation ) like father, mother, brother or sister then they can sponsor you and your kids as Qatar Air Ways tourist visa status or contact some hotels for tourist visa but it is little expensive. All status visas can convert to family permanent status paying 500 QR. So there is no any problem.

You can keep dual RP only with some conditions:

The name of the company ( sponsor )in Kuwait and Qatar should stand same. for an example Hyundai in kuwait and Hyundai in Qatar. If the immigration authorities come to know that it is a mother or sister concern then you can keep dual RP providing some required docs and fee to the immigration.

yes you can come here in qatar but if you can wait till your husband have his RP processed. it will be a shorter time for you to have your family visa.

Contact your embassy and ask for visit visa first. this can be transferreed over to RP as sppn as you start the process. Cant tell you how long it will take though.

Yes it is possible but that visa needs to be renewed after every month. Also you have to appear int he medical test after a month of duration here.

Yes that visa can be tranfered to RP visa status provided your husband has this RP visa issed as it takes at least a month. There are many people here who do this buisness of getting the visas converted, it is no problem.

I dont think so that there will be a problem having two GCC permits. Your previous permit will stand canceled as your husbands RP there will be canceled after he quits the job.
