URGENT INFORMATION about sponsering live out maid required

Hi
I hope someone out there can help me. I have never sponsered anyone before. My husband is going to sponser a maid for me. She is live out. At the moment she has a visit visa which expires on the 12th december.

Can anyone tell me what documents I need, where I need to go and so on..

Also I know its short notice with the hols coming up so should she extend her visit visa for a fortnight or so? Can she if she has already extended it for six months?

please reply asap

I am not so sure I would want to sponsor a live out to be honest. As a maids visa, you are completely responsible for her. Also, if she works somewhere else and is caught you will also carry a very hefty fine. If you are comfortable with this arrangement best of luck.

You have to first have a visa available for her. Your husband needs to apply for a housemaids visa under her specific nationality. Immigration will ask for his ID card, a letter from his work, your marriage certificate and they may also ask you for your rental contract as well as the water and electricity bill of your house (this may happen to confirm your residence). They may also ask for a letter from your work as a lot of the time they are hesitant to give a maids visa if the woman is at home and not working (happened with us but doesnt happen with all).

Once this is approved she will have to leave the country and re-enter on the new visa.

Eid Al Adha holiday for the government can last for one week and as vfr750 said the visa will already be expired by then. To be safe have a copy of her passport, your RP and a copy of your husband's RP since he will be the one sponsoring when you go to the Immigration Dept.

start to fall in line on the immigration dept. you might have to wait for another 15 days before you could apply for a visa. that time, your maids visit visa is already expired.
