One of my friend's nephew, an INDIAN, currently working in US.
He cannot adjust with his newly wed wife ( from INDIA ) and would like to send back his wife to her homecoutnry - India.
Currently she is in India. Can he cancel her H4 visa, in absentia?
is it necessary , she has to be in US, while cancellation ?
does it requre to give reason for such cancellation?
As per Middle East countries, the husband ( sponsor ) has the right to cancel the resident status of his dependents ( wife, kids etc ) .... I dont know how is it in US ?
Wow... I didn't realise Indians *like* the idea of owning a woman's freedom.
So in other words he got a mail-order bride from India, but doesn't like her, so wants to send her back.
He could try to divorce her and then marry someone he actually likes.
I take it from the undertones of the question that he wants to make it look like the visa was rejected or cancelled by the authorities and then he can get rid of his unwanted possession without looking like he is responsible for it.
Poor woman, being married to such an awful husband. Indians are screwed up.
Well, if he saved the receipt he should just be able to exchange her for a more suitable wife.
That is one flucked up question...
Mate,
Talk to the people at the USA Embassy if its a USA issue
Well in America, no one can cancel another person's visa other than the one who's name is on the visa. So, no your friend can not cancel his wife's visa.
One must ask the question, tho...does the wife WISH to leave America(and her husband) permanently or is this just the wish of the husband to rid himself of his wife? In order to do that, they would have to get divorced, if I am not mistaken, then go through the paperwork in person.
