Hi!

Can anyone help me regarding my problem.
I was offered with a job in qatar for a semi government company. I came from uae last september and did not returned after my vacation. My residence permit in uae is still valid until sept of 2013.

Will i be able to get the job? I did not told the employer that my uae RP is not yet cancelled. What are the problems that i might encounter in case i arrived at qatar and applied for residency?

I will gladly need you advise...
Thanks and regards.

I am no longer in UAE and I was not able to cancel my RP. I did not return in UAE due to some misunderstanding with my employer thats why I did not resigned. I am hoping I can have the job in Qatar and have a residence permit there even if my Uae RP is still existing.

Thanks songalolo!

Why are you not able to cancel your uae RP?

So you mean that I can pursue my application and I wont have any problem when i arrive in qatar and apply for residency?

You can hold both RPs. Here you have to pay a 2000 Rial/ year extra ( not sure about the amount)while you stamp your Qatar visa. You can see this details in the immigration.

Dual residency is possible. It is called "Linked Residency" and costs 2000 for one year. I have it myself, but it took a bit of a fight as my sponsor wanted me to cancel my UAE residency and claimed ignorance of this option, so it took me a few trips down to immigration myself to sort it out. Note that there is actually a sign in the immigration building that has the cost in black and white, just in case you have the same problem.

you have to cancel uae RP before qatar can stamp another RP in your passport, anyway you can still travel anytime to uae if you're pro ofw.

They cannot process your Qatar work permit/ID. Best inform them about it. Or just make excuse that you can only join after September.
