I am planning to shift to Qatar next month. The company has provided me with a visit visa. I will be travelling directly from Kuwait. How long does it take for the conversion of visit visa to work visa and the RP? Do I need to undergo any medical test in Kuwait/ India before travelling to Qatar? What is the procedure for applying for family visa?

Welcome to Qatar!

Now u r having a visit visa which u can't convert to a work visa. Again ur company has to apply for a work visa once u arrive here which may take 2 weeks to 2 months depending upon ur company and their projects.

I think u can undergo for medical tests from here in Qatar. For applying for family visa, u need to produce the following:

1. Duly filled application in the original form supplied from the ministry

2. NOC from the company showing ur salary and ur profession.

3. Passport copies (Both urs nd family)

4. Bank statement for the last six months showing ur salary transfer.

5. Marriage certificate attested by both the Indian Embassy in Doha and Qatar foreign affairs ministry.

6. Water & Electricity bill

If all these documents are ready, u can get family RP within 1 week. Before completing six months, u can bring ur family on visit visa. For more info, visit: www.moi.gov.qa
