VISA EXTENSION ENDS BEFORE I LEAVE QATAR
My working visa expired on March 23, 2008 and I did not renewed it. I am now using the 3 months extension...
The problem is my flight is scheduled on June 25, 2008 which is 2 days after the 3 months extension...
Is it true that the penalty is at QR10/day only? Meaning I will only pay QR20?
And I was told by a friend that all I need to do is to go to the Immigration before I go to the airport and pay the penalty of QR20.
Can anyone share their experience to clarify everything for me please?
Are there other things that I need to know?
Is the immigration office open 24hrs a day?
Will my company be reprimanded because of this or its not a problem at all?
Thanks in advance for your serious replies...
if so you are documented as resigned...
then, you should have now an EXIT PERMIT around this time... your sched flight is on 25th... you must secure an EXIT PERMIT before your visa extension ends... u have 2days more to go...
the term PENALTIES are only applied upon visa renewal or intentional refusal for re-application with the immigration. this has has nothing to do with the departure...

I would want to leave Qatar for now...
Thanks...

therefore, it would be beneficial for you if you have already an NOC from your sponsor since expiry of your work visa, that way you may have chance to work for another company. Also you might have in hand the Release paper for you to find who'll next to sponsor your visa. if so you're then decided to go home on the stated date you'd mention, hope you have now in hand an EXIT PERMIT. you still have 2days left to do...
remember, Exit Permit effects only up to 7-days upon it i s issued.

I am still in Qatar, and I have no intention to work in my company anymore that's why I resigned...

this is the thing that you should know...
this matters has something to do with you, why did your company allowed u to go home with the expired visa upon your return where you still have the full intention of joining the company? hope it wont happen to you next time.
for our company cases such like this, company shoulders whatever cost u may incurred resulting from the visa validity matters. so why worry? you'll be at worst if... you'll be barred from the entry at the airport. wish you wont be halted at the airport of origin...

coz, I resigned from my job...
I can give you the first 2 digits of my ID no., its 27...
Is it also the visa number?

Are you sure? Most of the people I asked said its just QR10/day...
What is the NOC for? Is it for the exit?
The immigration office is outside the airport right? Is it the one opposite to the Qatar Airways office?

Did you extend your working visa?? Working visa usually cannot be extended..
...if you can tell me what are 2 first digits of your visa, i would be able to say either it's 10 QR or 500 QR per day.
try QR-/ 500 a day, you can pay it at any time on the day of departure before going to check in providing you leave before 12am, make sure you have an e-card or a credit card as again they don't accept cash, you will need your exit permit from your sponsor as well as NOC to show the captain before he will sign off once the money is paid and this is extremly important you will recieve the receipt of the amount paid the captain will have written something on it in arabic, WHATEVER you do do not loose this receipt as you will need it to clear customs as well as your other papers. as I understand it the office is open 24hrs but don't expect the captain to be on hand if you go after 5pm. Best you get your companies PRO to handle the fine if you can as this has only been my experiance but ten again I travel on a Different passport so I have done this in the past myself , given the freedom of my passport.
