Hi, I am an expat and my babygirl was born last Nov.5, 2009 here in Qatar and I am still on the process of acquiring for her birth certificate. I would like to know how long is the allowable months for the baby to acquire a visa before I have to pay penalty?........My Embassy told me that it will take 1 month for her passport (MRP - machine readable passport)to be process............do I have enough time?

Lots of thanks.

you have 3 months grace period .Than you will pay 10 QR per day.

For the steps

1-to make the registration ,it is now in the Industrial area

2-Prepare The passport of the baby

3-Apply for the visa

You have to apply for the Birth Certificate within 15 days...this is opp Lulu Centre.

Then apply for Passport in your embassy.

Then apply for Visa

My baby's birth certificate will be release this coming thursday (Nov.19) I will apply for her passport immediately that day. So if it is 2-3 months I still have enough time. I just want to make sure of the deadline if 2 or 3 months.

Thanks atif242

you don't have to worry. You have the paper work. right!!!

.

Just keep the receipt of your embassy till your passport is ready.

.

Still i think , before 2-3 months you must get R.P. of a new born baby
