Good friday!
I have a feeling that your parents (assuming they hold french passport) would be able to get visit visa on arrival. Just pay QR 100 for 1 month when you arrived in Doha airport (no cash, credit card only).
However since my mum and me holding Indonesian passport, i have to do this following steps to sponsor her visiting us in Doha.
1. I went to the immigration to collect the form.
2. Submit the form together with my mum passport copy, my mum passport photos, my passport copy, my husband passport copy and letter wrote by my husband just to clarify that we sponsoring my mum while she is with us. Before you pay for the fees you have to see the captain and asked for his signature. Then you go to cashier and pay (no cash, credit card or Naps onlys).
3. The cashier will give you a receipt along with the website address and your visa number.
4. In my case about 3 hours i got a notification in my mobile phone that the visa is ready. I sent the website address and visa number to my mum. She print it out from home and thats is her visa.
I suggest you booked Al Maha service in the airport ... you pay certain amount of money, then their staffs will pick your parents from outside the aircraft, and they will do the immigration for them. That way your parents dont have to deal with the immigration. Alot easier if they dont speak English.
Yes - your parents should be able to get a visa at the airport upon arrival. I too suggest the meet and greet service. The name of this service is Al Maha and their desk is next to the rental car desks on the arrival side of the airport. We used it for my husbands parents and you can pay for their visas up front and Al Maha will arrange the visas for your guests as well as escorting them through immigration and baggage claim. Also, they walk your guests out to the arrival waiting area and stay with them until you come forward to pick them up. My husbands parents thought it was great.
Pwb is right. My parents visited from Australia and they got a 3 week visa at the airport on arrival ...shouldnt be a problem for France passport holders too..
According to the Marhaba book, France is one of the "visa-on-arrival" countries. Your parents can get a 21 day tourist visa when they get to the airport. I suggest buying them the Meet and Greet service which will handle the visa and everything for them while they relax in the wait area. You can purchase this at the airport and even prepay for their visas.
