what is the max duration for tourist visa for EU national?
Hi all,
Does anyone know how long my wife and daughter can stay in doha on tourist visa for? Without having to leaving the country on 'visa run'. I have looked on the qatar gov web site and says 14 days and can be renewed for an additional 14 days giving 28 days max. However I searched on QL and found post saying that it can be renewed 3x 28 days?

once you're in Doha you can contact a travel agency to apply for her a tourist visa (28 days renewable 3x) without exit to her country. But after this 3x renewal she must go for an exit and can come under new applied visa.
Tourist visa (Travel agency):
1st 28days-QR500
2nd 28days-QR1,250
3rd 28days-QR1,250
My sponsor is obtaining a work permit which is then due to be transferd to residence permit once i'm out there. However my concern is that Ramadan is coming soon and have heard that gov. workers on holiday, which may mean delays on my residence permit. Therefore I won't be able to sponsor her before her tourist visa expires.
if anyone can shed some light on this issue we would be greatful.
Sha001 – residence permit, I think it took a few weeks for mine, probably two or three, but I can’t remember for sure. I guess it depends also on your luck, like many other things here with Qatari bureaucracy : )
As for your wife, as I know it, you cannot stay in Qatar without a valid visa (there are fines etc.) so I would guess she would need a valid one at any given time. But I’m not sure if they make an exception in case there is a sponsorship/residence pending. Why don’t you ask your employer? I think they should be able to help you with more information.
Thank you ooo. do you know how long it takes to process work/ resisdence permit once im in qatar? Also will it matter if the visit visa on my wifes passport expires eventhough I'd applied to sponsor her before the visit visa had expired. As I've heard it can takes 6 weeks to sponsor spouse. Thank you both for the input hope you can help a little more.
Sha001 – EU nationals get a one-month Visa stamped on their passport on arrival, no need to go through travel agencies and stuff. It costs 100 QR and must be paid by credit card, they don’t accept cash. I’m not sure how and for how long you can renew it.
thank army001
To my knowledge its only 28 days. You can do a visa run for 3 times at a stretch - after that you cant get it for the 4th time. Not sure if they have changed this law - but this used to be the law at one point.. these laws keep changing.. Best thing - check with one of the hotels as if you are interested in getting some one on the hotel visa and the person would be staying in the hotel - they would be able to assist you with the exact info.
