what is my Resident perimit validity and contract period with the comapny???

In Feb 2010 I came to Qatar in visiting and got into a company after recieving the offer letter.Am an Engineer by profession. I worked for 3-4 days after signing offer letter and went back to India as they told me they will provide me visa.But it became May when i recieved my visa. I came back to Qatar in May. My resident visa validity started from May and i will complete 2 years in coming May. I signed a contract letter at the time of medicals and finger print in which 3 years was mentioned in the contract.My RP is renewwd every year.If i cancel my contract in May is it possible to ask for the 3 months salary which i waited for visa in India after signing the offer letter. How much will be my contract actually with the company ??? 3 years or til every year renewing period???
