WHAT STEPS CAN I TAKE IF THE COMPANY SUSPENDS ME FROM WORK FOR NOT SIGNING A WARNING LETTER ?
thanks for the advice, i submitted my letter of explaining why i was late and refuse to sign warning letter but i was instead offer with final warning letter which i also refused to sign hence suspended from work. the case is the management never listen to my grieviences instead just threatening which makes me loose morale of working at home now ready for any consequence the take against me please advice ???
My question for you is: How frequent is your tardiness at work that the management has given you a final warning already?
Check if your company has written policies and procedures on erring employees. If this is your first offense, usually a verbal warning will suffice. But if this is a frequent habit of yours, the management has the right to give you a warning notice which you have also refused to sign. This is also another case, as you are being issued a formal letter of warning but you refuse.
It is also good that you have given them a written explanation of why you have committed such offense. Every employee has the right to do that. Once or twice of tardiness or being late at work is not sufficient grounds for the management to give you a final note, unless your being late has caused the company huge amount of losses.
