I was told that my visa is under process since 02 July for a QP job. When ever I contacted, I am getting the reply that it is still under process. I am an Indian. Can anybody suggest when I will be lucky to have the visas.

Hi,

Thanx for detailed explanation. My future employer is not QP, but they explain to me that it takes 1-3 weeks for completing visa application, so I feel strange that it takes more than a month now ...

Think twice,

Initially you will be issued a work entry visa. Once issued, you will have three months from date of issue to come to Qatar. Once in Qatar, you will undergo medical exam and if the result is good then you will proceed with finger printing and blood typing. After undergoing all these pre requisites, you will have to wait for a month or two depending on your company to get your residence permit or work visa stamped in your passport. this rp initially is valid for one year and renewable. you can go out of the country as many times as you want during the validity of your rp as long as your sponsor issues you an exit permit everytime you leave the country.

Think-twice,

Work visa is a multiple entry visa; however there is a system of exit-permit prevailing in Qatar. Every time you are going out of the country Exit-Permit is required.

Manja,

You may check with the concerned person once again. However the procedure may take a little longer. And it is quite normal.

SHREEYA,

After my site interview and medical, QP HR told me that I will get the visa within 6 weeks (max)- complete all the process including issue of offer and other related process. They also told me that once applied, visa will be available within 3 weeks. But is not happening as per the assurance?

As far as I know there are no such guidelines. But after three months the chances of getting visa may likely fade; yet this is certainly not a rule. Different companies take different duration to complete the procedure. I certainly understand the anxiety you might be feeling as once I have gone through this all..QP is a govt company and it runs on it's own pace.

Regarding multi-entry I'll try to get the best information on this issue and come back to you. Until then just don't loose your heart!!!

Hi shreeya,

Thanx for sharing your experience. In fact I have a similar situation. My company started applying for my work visa since mid-Jun and up to last week we are still waiting for work visa. May I check:

- Does govt set any guideline on when a work visa application must be completed?

- Does work visa allow multi entry to Qatar?

Thanx.

It may take up to 3 months to get the work visa. In our case we got it after 2 and 1/2 months. In fact it was in Ramadan period. In your case it may take another month or so..So...wait wait and wait!!
