Hi Everyone,

I am a Filipino and is still here in manila. I was offered a job in Doha as a Civil Engineer which I accepted. I received my work visit visa but the profession is Carpenter. The scheduled flight going there in Qatar is this coming Wednesday. I am worried about the profession which was indicated in the Visa, Does it matter? The contract still says the position as a Civil Engineer. The agency told me, its just an entry visa. I am also planning to get my wife and one kid in the future, will I have problems about this? Please advise if I still have to leave...

Thank you.

It depends on salary too. They probably allow a salary of QAR 5000/ as cut off level to enable bring the family. But with a carpenter visa, it will be difficult to travel to other GCC countries without a visa. Lastweek I came across a driver looking for a job with Engineer visa. That s how the system here works. In Dubai, you get your visa stamped as per your degrees. Anyway Good Luck. It also depends on your salary if it is good no harm flying but a B tech civil engineer atleast deserves QAR 7500/ + housing.

Take Care

of course it matters, was the contract been validated by POEA? Let them change the work visa category to engineer before you leave for Doha.
