Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.S.C) is proud to announce the opening of its newest branch in Jeryan Njeima, marking the 43rd addition to the successful supermarket chain. The new branch adheres to international standards of construction and décor to provide customers with a convenient shopping experience.

Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani, Deputy CEO of Al MeeraConsumer Goods Company, inaugurated the opening ceremony in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Board Member along with several Al Meera representatives.

During the weeks leading up to the June 3  launch date, Al Meera’s team made sure to apply their fullest efforts to have the branch up and running before the start of Ramadan, to serve the needs of the neighboring communities during the holy month.

Until Eid al-Fitr, Al Meera customers can shop 1,000 products at the 2014 cost price in addition to a wide selection of the most sought-after items during this time, including more than 700 store promotions, and many more socially responsible activities that will be announced soon.

The 5,500 sqm Jeryan Njeima branch constitutes 1,200 sqm of supermarket area. The store offers shoppers a wide variety of food and non-food related items as well as fresh products. The branch includes a butchery, fishery, delicatessen, fruits and vegetables area and bakery to answer to the consumers’ various daily needs at very competitive prices. In addition to a huge parking space, the branch will feature 19 shops and 4 restaurants that are set to open soon.

The new branch boasts state-of-the-art elements similar to all its other new outlets, from the high-tech lighting to the storage techniques and technologies. The branch’s world-class shelves highly reflect the company’s keenness to offer the best products display to its customers; good-looking and well-spaced shelves allow customers to shop their items efficiently.

When discussing the expansion strategy, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani, Deputy CEO of Al Meera, said:

“We are committed to providing our unique services to all citizens of Qatar, especially those in new areas that don’t have access to topnotch facilities. By expanding into different parts of the State, we are supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030 in its plan to develop all areas of the nation. We are very pleased to be serving yet another segment of the Qatari community and look forward to the opening of our upcoming branches.”

Following the opening of six stores in Muaither, Al Azizia, Muraikh, the Gulf Mall, Thakhira and Jeryan Njeima recently, Al Meera is set to launch four more branches this year in Al Wakra, Al Thumama, Al Wajba and Rawdat Ekdeem. The aforementioned stores will be opening their doors weeks apart, one following the next, after obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses from the relevant authorities.

Al Meera has started working on several other branches  as part of its expansion strategy to construct 14 new shopping malls across Qatar, located in Sailiya North, Bu Sidra, Al Wakra2, Umm Salal, Leabaib 1, Leabaib 2, Rawdat Aba El-Herran, Azghawa, Al Khor, Um Qarn, Rawdat Al Hamama, Jeryan Junaihat, Al Sailiya and Ain Khaled. After the expansion plan is complete, Al Meera will boast 56 outlets spread from the south to north, and east to west of Qatar. The goal of Al Meera’s expansion is to provide its unique services to all consumers wherever they are in Qatar. In parallel, Al Meera continues to rehabilitate its old branches to integrate them with the new innovative concept, which is designed by international companies to meet the Qatari market requirements.
