H.E Mr. Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Qahtani, Minister of Public Health & Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) inaugurates Qatar International Medical Congress 2015
Under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani .. H.E Mr. Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Qahtani, Minister of Public Health & Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) inaugurated The Qatar International Medical Congress (QIMC) 2015 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
With Strategic Partners, Supreme Council of Health, Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation, QIMC 2015 is in line with the aspirations of the Qatar National Vision 2030. The event will run till May 28 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) to support the regional medical sector’s needs.
QIMC is connecting researchers, experts, and leading medical companies from around the world to the region, with Qatar’s leading entrepreneurs, doctors, and researchers in the field in an ideal networking platform to introduce their latest, cutting edge products, services and technologies in the medical field, providing better treatment for the people living in Qatar.
When explaining this event’s importance to Qatar’s medical sector, Mr. Abdulla Abdulrazzaq Haidar, Congress CEO said:
“In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, QIMC 2015 aims to continuously support events that will lay the foundations for a healthier and strong society, and encourage innovation in Qatar’s healthcare sector. This year’s exhibition will serve as the initial stepping stone in our country’s journey towards the development of the local, regional and international medical sectors, and markets that depend on the medical industry.”

For his part, on behalf of the event’s organising company Art & Art, the General Manager Mr. Rabih Karam, said:

The first day of the conference began with a discussion on Investment Solutions for Healthcare Companies in Qatar. Session one discussed crucial topics related to hematology and oncology, session two covered gastroenterology and infectious diseases, session three discussed plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, and session four covered topics related to sports medicine before closing the day with a gala dinner.
The second day of the conference will open with session five: palliative medicine and the quality of life. Session six will continue with discussions regarding diabetology and lipids, and session seven will cover nephrology and cardiology. Day two will close with an eighth session on non-surgical orthopedics.
The third and last day of the conference is set to open with session nine on health and safety, followed bysession ten on internal medicine, pregnancy and autoimmune diseases, then session eleven on pulmonology and allergology. Session twelve will discuss ORL and dental medicine, and session thirteen will close the day by shedding light on hospital infrastructure building, planning and management.
In addition, an education program with seven sessions is running in parallel with day two of the conference.
