Qatar Distribution Company to introduce annual license fee from December 1
Those who are depending on the Qatar Distribution Company (QDC) for their different needs should be prepared to pay a new license fee from December 1. However, the good news is that the one-time QR1,000 fees will be taken away.
New customers, upon approval of their applications, should pay the annual fee based on the validity period of their Qatar ID card. For one year, the licensing fee will be QR150. While two-year license will set you back by QR250, three and four year licenses will cost you QR350 and QR400 respectively.
While no additional fee will be levied for joint permit card holders, only electronic cash transactions will be accepted.
As for existing customers, deposits will be refunded in full by cash to those whose liquor permits are due for renewal in December 2016. From January 1 to February 28, customers will have the opportunity to claim their full deposit in cash and pay the license fee as per the current validity of their permit card.
From March 1, customers with a valid permit card, who has not yet claimed their deposit, will receive an automatic refund less the applicable license fee.
The balance will be available in your respective account as store credit for future shop purchases on your liquor permit card.
Once the store credit is applied, cash refund will be given to only those customers who have cancelled their residence permit. This will be subject to the customer providing relevant documents to prove the cancellation and at the discretion of QDC Management.
Renewal by email will cease to be in effect from December 1, 2016 and customers will be required to apply in person for renewal and to pay for the new license fee. Contact 4429 9777 or email [email protected] for any further clarifications.
Meanwhile, customers who have not claimed their deposit in the given period and whose cards have expired will remain in QDC records until the customer approaches the QDC permit office for renewal or cancellation of their card.
Cash refund will be given to only those customers who cancel their permit.
