Qatar volunteers invited for Singing Dunes cleanup drive
Here is a chance to give your bit to keep the public areas clean. A group of volunteers are planning a cleanup drive in Qatar desert on April 21, as reported by The Peninsula.
The event is open to anyone who is interested in sparing some time for keeping the environment clean.
Silent Volunteers, a group of Qatar residents, has invited all residents to organise its first cleanup drive at Singing Sand dunes.
The cleanup drive will involve removing litter from Singing Sand dunes on April 21 from 9am to 10am. Volunteers will be provided with large size garbage bags, hand gloves and refreshment at the venue. For those of you who plan to head to the desert, do carry sand mats, sunscreen lotion, hat and sand toys for your kids.
Silent Volunteers is a Sri Lanka based volunteering group that has two chapters in Qatar and Malaysia. In Qatar it has around 40 active members who have been participating in various events organised by Qatar Charity, Qatar Foundation, Mission20 and ROTA.
This is the first time that Silent Volunteers has organised an environment awareness drive in Qatar, which they plan to host annually.
Yeah its a Paradox, however they are pretty passionate about the desert here. I can truly relate to it. duning is amazing in Qatar and yes @Mayhem a 4x4 is highly recommended.
Do we need a 4 by 4 or a AWD good enough?
Who can remember the Music Festival held at Singing Dunes those days?
Will be there .. where do we meet
Silent Volunteers at the Singing Dunes - Surely a paradox .. Hats off to them (quietly)
