Doha court reviews fraud case worth QR 10 million
Crime rate in Doha has been seeing a steady rise since the recent past. A brokerage company employee has been accused of deceiving his wife and her mother by embezzling their shares along with profits worth more than QR10 million.
While the case is being reviewed by a Doha criminal court, the local Arabic daily Arrayah reports that the accused’s wife and her mother not only filed a case but also told the court that the accused was never given full authority to perform any financial transactions.
Furthermore, the court was also informed that the accused had no right to “to handle her shares at the bourse, or to withdraw bank cheques”, says Gulf Times.
It all began when the accused’s wife didn’t receive any profit that was due on their shares. Upon inquiry from the bank, she had learnt that her account had no credit and her shares have been sold by her husband.
The woman has also accused her husband of counterfeiting her signature and her mother’s on bank cheques and other necessary documents.
The forensic department too has confirmed that the signature has been a forged one.
Gulf Times further says that the husband admitted to taking the money during investigation at Public Prosecution and pledged to return it.
However, he never did. The case is still under review at the court.
This will be resolved ............ it's a family matter after all ..............
Dear, aside from that it is better to ask for the receipt.
Couple of observations - usually when they talk about crime rise, it is to do with robberies , murder etc
As an employee of the brokerage house, surely it is against company policy for him to trade in shares and stocks
