Reactions to QFA President's article on The Guardian
Several people have reacted negatively on Twitter to Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmad Al Thani's article on the op-ed section of The Guardian, a British newspaper.
Al Thani is the president of Qatar Football Association as well a board member of the 2022 organizing committee.
In his article, he highlighted the several reasons as to why Qatar had the best bid among all nations. Despite the unacceptable footballing weather conditions in the country, Al Thani claims Qatar had compelling answers to all of FIFA's big questions.
Al Thani's article was in response to all the media criticism that has been piling pressure on the oil-rich nation, with claims that Qatar had paid voters to win the 2022 bid. However, he asserts that Qatar's 2022 committee always played by the rules, and cooperated with FIFA while they carried out investigations.
The QFA president, however, failed to impress many of his readers. Only a handful seemed to positively support Al Thani's arguments on social media.
Incredibly well written and argued "Qatar had the strongest bid" http://t.co/zvgYIqGdwq

Most of the people have negatively criticized him for not even mentioning the various issues like worker rights.

At the end of the day, FIFA will have to be stern and decide who will host the most prestigious and popular sporting event in the world.
Mk...ignore him please
hahahahahahahahahaha frustrated mental brother ...............................:)
buddy take care of your health too much laughing can cause cardiac arrest so better see a good doctor as I can See from your profile pic your mental state LOLS..................
wud agree with you kiwi that Qatar is progressing slow and steady towards the future developments and we should appreciate and support them in a positive way rather then to think negative good to see you all supporting making jealous of the negative minds and iam happy that I have been a part of the development
I agree ruz. Why not have a WC in Qatar? Yes there will be some challenges to overcome and some wrinkles to iron out. That's what they are doing now. Every host country will have the haters, but no country is perfect. At least Qatar is getting off its butt and doing something constructive and trying to encourage the people of Qatar to do the same thing.
I think that It will be a better country in the end for hosting the WC.
We need Qatar 2022 and likes of it. There is a long way to go to improve the workers rights etc, but they have already started improving it. Thanks to Qatar 2022. Any change in the right direction is always good. Well done Qatar.
bye bye to all Qatar haters and welcome 2022..............
WELCOME Qatar 2022...we need you
