Road closure in Al Khor for 10 months

Road closure in Al Khor for 10 months

To facilitate the extension works of Al Khor sewage network, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will close the east-bound carriageway of Al Ameer Road in Al Khor from April 3.

The west-bound carriageway of the road will become a road with one lane in each direction. The closure will last for 10 months.

Ashghal appeals to all commuters within the area to cooperate by driving safely and carefully and respect the speed limit during the diversions.

The extension of Al Khor sewage network project is part of Ashghal's Roads and Infrastructure in Local Areas programme, which is a nationwide programme that includes the development of roads, drainage and new infrastructure in all areas of Qatar.

another Closure for 10 months in Alkhor....because people travelling to RasLaffan, Dakhira ,Alkhor Hospital are all affected by a similar closure on a main road that is situated just in front of North Security Department and Civil Defence , adjacent to Alkhor Corniche.

due to the extended closure that is almost 1 year now, is creating long ques and trouble to travellers to this area. especially, peak time and also to emergency vehicles.

i hope Ashgal put pressure on the contractor to finish the drainage work soon on this specific area, which has run more than the specified time in the contract.

a lot of vehicles has to take detour through alkhor corniche because of this one lane and is creating a lot of trafffic and pressure in the arterior roads.
