Tired of getting spam messages/calls on your phone? Here are ways to stop it!
Over the years, mobile phones have become a very important accessory in any person’s life. However, like all things in life, it has a negative aspect too.
One of them is the tsunami of unwanted/marketing/spam messages and calls you receive on it every day. So are there any ways to stop this menace?
We searched the Internet and found that service providers like Ooredoo and Vodafone do take steps to control the menace. Here are some ways which they suggest.
OOREDOO
If you no longer want to get marketing and mass messages in your inbox, you can do the following:
1. Call Ooredoo on 111 and report suspicious international numbers. Such numbers will be blocked from the system.
2. Stop spamming messages by texting “Unsub ServiceName” to 92600. Put the name of the company that’s spamming you in place of "ServiceName". The request is case sensitive, so please type the name accurately.
3. If you want to stop all bulk SMS senders from contacting you, just send “Unsub all” to 92600.
4. Ooredoo’s Mobile App has a built-in Spam Blocker. Download the App, follow the simple onscreen instructions and stop spam on its tracks. For more info, click HERE.
VODAFONE
Vodafone Qatar runs competitions from time to time. However, all such competitions are SMS based and the sender will be listed as ‘Vodafone’ or a short code such as 97773. Vodafone will NEVER contact customers via WhatsApp. So do not answer to these messages or return these calls as it may be a scam.
You can complain to Vodafone about Spam messages by:
1. Calling customer care at 111
2. Contacting Vodafone Qatar HERE
3. Calling Vodafone Qatar's toll free number at 800 7111

Very helpful. Big Thanks!
Plus we should learn to remain calm in any situation unlike the gentleman in the pic, that is not good for our health .............
We need to respect the senders, atleast they just remembered you in this fast paced clever world ..........
Yeah but most spam messages I receive are from Ooredoo themselves.
If you give your mobile number to any shopping mall while billing ,definitely , next day onward you will get advertising messages from various vendors . I believe these shopping malls selling our mobile number data base to advertising companies.
Such wise and wonderful advice
