I wish you all 'Ramadan Kareem'...
Some people on QL were inquring about the Fajr 'Imsak'(start fast) and Maghrib 'Iftar' (break fast) timings in Doha so I've posted a calendar below.

Also, following is a compilation of Duas for Fasting (Ramadan)

- Dua for keeping a fast at the time of Sehar (Niyaat)

Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan

- Dua for breaking a fast at the time of Iftaar

Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu [wa 'alayka tawakkaltu] wa 'ala rizq-ika aftarthu

Wa'Salaam

Here is a very uselful 'Ramadan Calender' for Doha - Qatar, which I have found thru a very reliable website, also you can download FREE ADHAN software from the following link mentioned below:

NOTE:

(The Adhan time in some areas in Qatar may differ from the Ramadan Calender mentioned above and Adhan Time in the software (link provided below) for few mins only. Therefore, one may feel to open the Aftar once he hear the Adhan whichever is first.)

different places across Qatar from 1 min to 5 min depending on the sunset time .... Also if you open your fast within a difference of 5 mins your fast is valid.

But I would like to thank you for alerting me on this issue as i forgot to mentioned above that that Adhan time and the Ramadan Calender Time may differ in different parts of the Qatar from 1 min to 5 min max.

I live in Al Rowda (near Matar Al Qadeem) the time of Adhan in my laptop and mosques outside my house is almost same. :-)

Was'Salaam

I know Muslims like to be to the minute with exact prayer times, but I posted a comment about how there are different start dates for Ramadan depending on your sect and locale.

Far be it for me to speak for Allah, but I think it is the act that counts and not whether or not you are off by a minute or two. I can't imagine at the height of the 'Islamic Empire' that everyone made prayers and the exact right moment, without the access to modern time keeping.

In the prayer timetable that is provided by Awqaaf, shows 5:55 for 1-9-08 and 5:54 for today, 2-9-08

5:54 is written on http://english.mofa.gov.qa/ too

www.islamicfinder.com is showing some incorrect data

I found it very effective and accurate ....

You will hear the Adhan in your home and you can select the Adhan from Mekkah/ Medina/ Egypt etc... and this software is updated from the website from time to time

for Computer/ Laptop: http://www.islamicfinder.org/athanDownload.php

For Mobile/ Cell Phone use : http://www.islamicfinder.org/mobile/index.php

Give it a try ....

Ramadan Kareem people

However I have just been down the petrol station and car wash... and a minority very very bad tempered.

If fasting effects your mood that much you should really really reconsider because that isn't the spirit of Ramadan.

Luckily not directed at me but if it had I would have been in tears.
