Dear Friend

The collective amnesia of the captains of Indian industry,

Messrs.Tata, Mittal and Ambani embracing Narendra Modi and endorsing

his candidature as future PM of India, disturbed me immensely.

Please read the following link and the petition below and sign as well as forward to your friends and family asking them to sign.
Then when Jan 30th comes, do not forget to implement your decision

The more rules we come up with to clean the crap of past....

Smarter ways people find to by-pass them...

We don need to limit the age of politians....

As a Voter... we should Vote for the ones we want to see in parliament...

Age has nothing to do with the Will to administer in a better way.......

A 35 yrs old can be better than a 65+ .. vice versa too is true.....

And not having religion based n local parties is difficult...

The reason they where formed was so tht these communities are not unheard in the society....

The curses today where the solutions of the then present issues in society....

Even they are creating issues now... we solve them with a rule...and people shall out-smart them too...

Realizing the importance of doing it self.. is important...

If there is Will; anything could be achieved.....biggest example is Obama; where he was 5 years back and now the whole world knows him....

India CAN, INDIA WILL; it is all in attitude and determination...

Good one ambat, I have similar thoughts (as you suggested) to:

1. Fix the maximum age of politician.

2. Restrict number of Regional/state political parties.

@ambat: On publicity/marketing front not everybody is expert; certain parties believe in performance during the tenure and when close to the election time, they show their report card to their voters.

On Gujarat front; no doubt on the development front; very good progress done so far. The credit should not go only to the ruling party. The major corporate industries (Reliance, Tata's and many more) based in the state, have much more contribution in terms of financial support and aids in the construction of roads, water and electricity projects....financing parties funds, etc....

Hmm.. VB...

Few IFs and BUTs .. but really difficult when it comes to implementation......

All this is true for a ideal Democracy....

but in real India... lets see how it ll be implemented...

They are a reflection of the society we live in . At least industrially he has put Gujarat ahead of all the other states .

Coming to some basic issues ...let us have a cut off date for politicains . Why should these guys go on till they can't even walk . Second you need to bar criminals and try to get educated guys into politics . For that you will need a constitutional amendment because as things stand now the more the population of a state the more seats they get which is why you only see the likes of Mayawati , Lalloo Mulayam et al being discussed during election time . Thirdly you need to restrict the number of political parties .

But even as things stand now we can take heart from the fact that in spite of for all our ills we are still a democracy having regular elections which means nobody can take people or power for granted .

CHEERS !!

I feel post reading all these threads your opinion must have changed..

The solution to CHANGE the current scenario BY:

Empower Honest, Educated and Youth Leaders, bring Fresh Ideas to clean our systems and country at whole.

Stop all religious mass procession and propogandas (Julus or Rath Yatras) creating disharmony among people.

Forcefully retire all corrupt and criminal leaders out of politics.

Please read this thread, comments and post your comments

I am not surprised when the shoe/slippers hurled on Home Minister (P Chidambaram), then Advani, then foiled attempt on PM, shoe garland put on Mahatma Gandhi's statue.......these irreponsible sort of protests are absolutely not acceptable in democracy.

High profiled Leaders and positions shall be treated with due respect, these acts signify the highest level of stupidity and ignorance of simple etiquette; shall be punished under the legal system.

I am bit surprised that nobody is defensing Dr Manmohan Singh (MMS), the man behind India's developing economy today. Globalisation process started over a decade ago, by then Finance Minister DR MMS..

Agreed that it was a safe bet by Sonia G who forwarded DR MMS (clean) name as PM in 2004, as he is not a politician but an intellectual, economist, bureaucrat and ambassador of India. I does agree he could not Talk Like Others or Debate on political situations like Others (who give only LIP service to the nation)

....Does not mean he only remained as a puppet....What you will say about other illiterate politicians? common guys, see both the sides of the coin, watch and then comment...

Your quote Ashwin

If I agree with you then Ambani, Tata and Mittal should run as PM, they know how to make India more rich (financially) by MNC mergers and acquisitions.

Congress is the most intelligent and smart political party, they know very well how to play their cards. Recall Indira gandhi's time, she always used to pamper muslims as vote bank; till Babri masjid demolitian and post mumbai & all india riots. Congress was running at the centre for 4 decades continuously as they lure muslim vote bank in UP & Bihar. Congress is well aware that Hindu votes get divided among brahmins, dalits and certain high/low castes....they could rule at the centre with support from All High Net Worth Industralist (for providing Party Funds and introduction of favorable policies on imports), brahimins and muslims (offering muslim to follow muslim personal law and no need of civil codes for muslims). It was give and take support policy.

All regional parties were restricted to their respective states while Congress ruled at Centre with dividing among Hindus and United muslims votes....

Isn't a great RULING strategy!!! But this failed after Babri masjid demolition and Mumbai riots (post 1992-93)...

BJP got popularity and benefited by uniting HIndus and brought all hindus at one platform (similarly Mayawati played the same cards in UP during last elections by uniting Dalit and Brahmins) defeated Mulayam.

BJP with like minded principle allainces created NDA and formed Govt at Centre but could not stand long as congress never learnt to stay in opposition and got back in Power in 2004.

If you think the leadership in BJP gets over at MODI..

I shall tell you about Mr.Manohar Parriker... He is X-CM of Goa...

He is known for his authoritative way of wrking.... but gem of a person....

An IITian.... who when came to power revolutionized the Industrial development in Goa n prime focus was on Education... as it is the future of Goan growth story...

Many Companies specially pharma are coming up with manufacturing plants in Goa... Glenmark, Cipla, Glaxo (if spelt correctly) you name it and they are there...

Goa College of Engineering (My Col :) ) was recognized as Satellite Campus for IIT-Mumbai... it was a aid....

GEC shall get NIT status very soon....

Goa Institute of Management is amoung top 20 B schools in India...

BITs Pilani Opened a Goa Campus....

It took time to bring in all this.. but he was the pioneer...

But then the great Indian Politics...

Congress out smarted BJP .. candidates.. Known for their Crimes... get ticket and win...

And being a small state.. 40 Seat... its really dirty Game...

You would get a Bike if you have 4 votes from your home..... You know how dirty it can go then......

Parrikar is no more in power .. its cong now... Hope he comes....

Hmm.. true very true... All of you are hitting a Bulls Eye One after the other...

In spite of the fact tht congress doesn have a new face for PM post...

But if you see.. Congress as a party is more street smart than BJP is....

I mean look at the candidates in or around the constituency you belong to India...

In BJP the Party is above everybody... the Party Agenda is biggest priority.... Irrespective of how staunch or fanatic it is...

but a Congress Candidate ll be the richest guy in the locality...a corporate before.. landlord of acres n acres... a "GunDa" or a "bhai".. who can mold whtever he wants by throwing money... and he ll win too

The philosophy of the Party or people at center is not passed down the line to party wrkers.....

Unlike in BJP.... Where the name BJP is over every other Party member or wrker.... likes of Modi n Advani included....

Politicians and parties striving for power always bank on the short memory of the COMMON people who go and vote for them. Modi being the latest addition in the que strikes to the memory first, one stops there and starts tirade against politician (politician bashing by the way is considered the best past time). However, if we walk down the memory lane a few years back we will understand no single party is above the other in any aspect. This does not apply only to India but to all the countries. Just pause for a momemnt and recapitulate.

Post of PM is very important specially in Indian context. At least in BJP there are now 2 candidates who can be considered for PM...but does any other party have any candidate just on the merits...think Mayawati and Manmohan Singh...one driven by minority card (Country...what is that?) and the other relies on the orders of 10 Janpath. Congress being in power for so many years could not give even one politician who can be considered for PM without the blessings of 10 Janpath.

Do we apprecaite PM's who have there own spine and work on collective wisdom of the party or who are self centred or just are good executors of the orders.

Think....we dont do that much and so cannot make out the good from the bad or should I say GOOD from NOT SO GOOD.

There are so many interwoven and standalone issues...to come to the right conclusion (???) needs lot to be discussed. Regarding Tata, Mittal and Ambani...why shouldn't Tata's support Modi...he was there savior...NANO comes to mind immediately...and today India is shining only because of these industrialists and leading the pack (alongwith China) towards whom the world is looking to bailout from the worst recession of all times..

Cheers...

Modi is very enthusiastic, intelligent and young industrialist (hard working) man but lost his reputation due to the Godhra incident and post riots....they play their games and cards openly....like Thackreys in Maharashtra, such people could not fair at the centre.....as you know that govt at Centre always need supports or majority of seats in UP and Bihar (largely muslim populated states plus huge in size and number of seats representing at the Centre).

Sonia is one step further apologiesed to Sikh community for 1984 riots to gain their delhi/punjab vote bank and refused seat to Tytler...(game played very well). They get benefit from Nehru/Gandhi's family name even some people thought they are related to Mahatma Gandhi...

They get sympathy votes for the Life given by Indira G and Rajeev for the country......

Now see Mr. Modi, just 2 days back during an interview sitting in his chartered flight, asked to apologies to muslims for Godhra riots and, He refused again by turning the point and stopped the interview (don't see his foolishness, calling for negative publicity).

My ultimate point is that Nobody is clean in current political scenario, all are opportunist and working to get the maximum personal benefit and give advantage to their political party/network and fulfil their personal aspirations/desires.

One is killing from the Front and another from the back...We the 'common man' has become "Sandwich" between the political parties and their unwanted stunts (such as Godhra case resurrected against modi_Zakiya case by SIT, Bofors kickbacks, silly shoe hurlings at PM, FM, black money at Swiss banks, 125 years old party and young leaders, etc, etc,.so many more non sense to hear!

Your comments and suggestions are Welcome guys!

states like UP and Bihar, over 2 decades then old dacoits, who turned politicians are bullying in their constituency and nobody dares even to contest elections against them; they got elected unanimously, without contesting. They are called 'Baahoobali Netas'....Like Lalu Prasad, Pappu Yadav, Atiq Ahmed, Shahbuddin and so on....

All pending cases they referred as politically motivated cases and sometime cases got cancelled at lower court levels and some cases withdrawn by complainants (settled outside the courts)...But even though they behave very discipline manner at the Centre bcoz most of the ministerial position goes to educated ministers (their jobs are managed by 10 highly paid IAS Officers in each field).

Its not the idustrialists who decides the Pm of India. Its just their view, thinking from the commercial corner of their brain, Modi is been a very successful one to bring in investments and supporting trade in his state.

India is in a crucial state where it requires a stable GOvernment with strong Vision. Its clear that we are heading to a hung government which would slowdown the pace badly.

Talking abt communalism, can you tell me one party that isnt communal?

The congress? Just check out the way they field candidates/ the way they play issues state-to-state, caste-to-caste. and yeah ther's always 1984 riots to certify for their bloodthirst. Not to mention the riots against Tamils in 1991.

CPI/CPM? They are supposed to be non-believers by principle but even their top brass have their fingers in the spirituality biz. Again lets not get into opportunistic coalitions.

That said, I do believe that this man deserves to be punished if his guilt is proved in the court. In fact the Supreme court has ordered a fresh probe to find his complicity in the riots. But I cant remember the last time an Indian politician remained behind bars for a long time, can you? hell, if we start locking away the criminals amongst our politicians, close to one-third of our parliament would be empty!!

Corporate India always had a complain against Indian Politicians...

There prime agenda was to Keep there govt for 5 yrs... and if it does survive.. then for another five yrs...

"To please the masses" is prime focus, unlike the growth oriented which the companies would like it to be...

They are not just businessmen they are the warriors of today... they want to enter into the foreign territory and aquire it.... and also try to recapture the lost home ground to the non-Indian MNCs...

Modi Has assured them tht they ll get the sufficient logistics and artillery to materialize there dream.. hence he is their "knight in shining Armour".

Not for "how" he came to the power to give them what they where looking for so long...

The corporate Magnets are looking at the beautiful picture he has .... as a visionary to take this country as the very petioner says....

I Quote "from indolent elephant to thundering tiger" I Unquote...

And we the avg Indian got our eye stuck on the black spot...

Ambani, TATA, n Mittal are not people who would support a man who is fanatic... If tht was the criteria ... why the name of "TOGADIA" RSS head is missing...

This petition is my humble effort to engage the conscience of

corporate India and make it known to them that the Indian citizen is not to be trifled with.Just as we can vote for or against the poitician, we can pinch the corporate bottom-line in order to engage their attention to mend their ways.

It is not an easy task for us to keep our cell phones and Blackberries switched off for an entire day on January 30th,- the 61st anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination.

However, it ought to be sufficient to get the message across to corporate India that we will not tolerate the endorsement of fascists as future Prime Ministers.
