The artist who drew the pictures of the Prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.Hhis family) has died in a fire. He was burned alive. Denmark government is hiding the news from the public and everyone has to know. Plz spread this.... (Its the price one must pay 4 the insult of Allah's Prophet)
Thanks for digging that out .... I also note that the so called 'news' was over a year ago. hmmm any old excuse to wind people up on here I guess. So sad.
I'd never expect an Indian to react in any situation like you did..whether it's anyones birth or death..friend or enemy...India, being a nation that practices tolerance.
"he did spread lot of hatred and fire through his cheap work, and it was good he was killed."
The first line is true, i agree! BUT the second line...sorry i couldn't agree w/ that!
I am not a doctor, i am just a poor nurse. But i couldn't wish for someone to die! as i oathed to help save lives regardsless of his religion, race, age, sex, rich or poor, preist or criminal. etc. etc.
My political views, emotional attachment, religious beliefs are 3 different issues that need to set aside when there is in need to fullfill my duty & responsibilities as part of the medical team.
Let God judge him(Danish Cartoonist) alone. I would never wish for him to die even if he/she is my enemy. I would have wish that my God had open his heart to love & respect my dear Prophet(Mohd.)S.A.W.
Well Scarlett, without justifying violence (ha ha...), I guess that sooner or later those condoning violence will find the sharp end without any trouble.....Lol. (Wicked grin)
" I have a mind that ticks like a Clock, and like a clock it regularly goes Cuckoo "
As usual I'm late for the posts.....OH MY GOD.....can't believe this discussion is actually going on. Corne, I can understand the banging the head part....where did all the caring, compassion and respect for life go to. Immi, please don't give us a bad name...if you can't get over your twisted pleasure....please don't try to justify it with microbes (Virus rights....yipee). But seriously, I just got back home after handling a serious Road traffic Accident and it still hurts that people have to die so needlessly (and that was an accident). If you are a doctor....act like one.....life comes first, second and always on the list. People look to us for health.......so let us not rejoice in suffering. Don't discriminate. If you want to be emotionally detached from your patients, thats your call(and how your patients deal with it)......but treat every life equally, mother, son or enemy.....Peace all.
Apple....its not so bad, trust me. And Scarlett.....which end of the scalpel....lol.
" I have a mind that ticks like a Clock, and like a clock it regularly goes Cuckoo "
Why not? Being a doctor is great! U have the right to be hateful, revengeful, wish others horrendous deaths, and deny people treatment just because u don't like their country :D
Did u just compare killing bacteria/virus by antibotics to the burning of a live human being ?? Oh my God. I'm not even going to think too much about this, cause it will get me all worked up and I would like to enjoy my weekend instead :-)
dear oryx-- our job is to end human suffering and it involves brutal killing of bacteria, viruses, parasites etc ,and we really rejoice these killings daily. dont expect me to forgive these creatures,or prevent me from rejoicing the killing. similarly the danish cartoonist was a devil, he did spread lot of hatred and fire through his cheap work, and it was good he was killed. dont expect me to forgive him(and also forgive the disease causing bacteria and viruses). the followers of devil are devils(and we have lots here)
oryx,scarlet,jauntie--- i missed your post regarding the ex-NHS guy. i never meant that the nhs guy are not intelligent, i meant that i was proud that i escaped the racial abuse by not working there. the indiscrimnate, unprovoked racial abuse against asian and other non european doctors is one of the leading reason why doctors with brilliant careers are hijacked easily by extremist elements there.
celebrating someones death - yuk i abhor it...doesn't mean i agree with what the man did it is the fact you relish his death immi that is so disturbing
I don't think you are getting the point, it's not that the cartoonist has such a huge fan following.
What is so outrageous is how you seem to celebrate and be happy about his death-and the violent way he did die.
The fact that you are a doctor and at the same time can be so happy that someone could die in such a horrible way is deeply disturbing. Don't you see enough suffering in your line of work? How could you ever wish it upon another?
As a forensic scientist, I see such brutal and horrendous crimes on a daily basis and no matter who the victim is I could never wish it upon anyone.
You are not in the position to judge and wish death on others- only God can.
lets end the discussion here. i never knew that the danish cartoonist had such a huge fan following. it appears that he must have been a national hero, might be a potential candidate for knighthood. i am sorry to hurt the sentiments of so many people.
i did not insult any religion and i did not want to speak about islam, but it was the sarcastic comment of oryx(....religion of peace)which prompted me to clarify the point. i dont speak for all muslim, nor do i use my religion as my shield. some people were so much offended by the news of the cartoonist's death, that from the very beginning of the post the esteemed forum members dragged my religion and my profession into the discussion, accused me of discrimination, accused me of creating trouble and finally branded me as a terrorist. i once again apologise to all the members of the forum who had been offended by my post. why not arrange a condolence meeting for the dead cartoonist?
cornelian-- if my son or my mother is sick and in pain, i can feel the pain myself because i am emotionally attached with them. being compassionate and being caring for your patient is something different from being emotionally attached as in the first case. i never said that i am not compassionate or caring for my patients. sometime treatment of patients with whom you are emotionally attached becomes difficult. but as a medical student, i would suggest you to get emotionally involved with your patients. you should be able to feel the pain and discomfort of your patient, it will help you become a good clinician. i know my posts give you a terrible headache, but please dont bang your head. once again my apologies for all the people offended by my posts. lets end this thread here.
According to Yahoo news, one of the suspects in the last bombing plot in Britain “had posted a comment on an Internet chat room condemning cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published last year in Danish newspapers” http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070704/ap_on_re_eu/britain_terrorism
mmm..I’m starting to wonder. Immi, are you related?;)
luckily all the doctors i have been too here are very compassionate and caring esp how their social life may be effecting their illness as you cant seperate symptom from cause.
doctors i know are amazingly caring and their job can be draining
you have now insulted, other muslims, christians and doctors.
Maybe when he was young, him and his family went on a vacation to Denmark and forced him to eat their cheese and hated it so he has come back with vengance against Denmark...he says it's because of the cartoons but it's subconsiously because of the cheese! And he's always wanted to be a doctor but his parents and professors kept discouraging him...they said he has limited abilities...but he was "special"...that's why they let him ride the small bus everday to school. :D
LOL im sorry immi...i don't intend to be mean, I'm just messing around, and trying to express my anger using humor :-)
Immi...I doubt this cartoon was worth burning flags across the region and wishing for someone to die. I would stop right now before people read you comments re: Islam...as it's obvious you have no idea what your talking about, and will give others reason to criticize Islam.
This thread should be deleted as it is false information. He is trying to stir trouble.
OMG *bangs her head against the wall for having to talk to such a dim witted so-called doctor*
There is a difference between having to take a critical decision in the operation room and having compassion and tolerance towards ur patients ! Ever heard of bed-side manners ??? Sheesh!
I would suggest u stop talking, cause every post u make proves to all of us ur abilities (or lack of) as a doctor.
cornellian---we'll discuss about emotional and professional life of a doctor when you complete your study and begin your clinical practice. i would ask you how often your decisions, are guided by emotions compared with professional training?
You say "doctors dont have any emotional attachment with there patients and we are least concerned about their personal or social life" and "i cannot forgive somebody who insults or injures my parents or my family". I seriously think you are in the wrong profession.
I have an idea. Why don't you post your name and hospital that you work in and we will see how your superiors feel about it?
You apparently haven't forgotten your oath so these comments shoudn't cause any problems?
Well u know Richard we're not all blessed with the vast knowledge like immi.
Immi, like Scarelett said, please don't speak for all muslims or christians or anyone else for that matter. We all have tongues and can speak for ourselves.
I pity u if u can't forgive others and have tolerance, I wonder how much grudge and anger will build up inside u. Sad really. And please don't drag Islam into this. Talk about urself. Don't talk about Islam, and use it as ur shield to hide behind. It can speak for itself.
Not only can you speak for all muslims you can also speak for "most" christians. You sure are an impressive guy. I feel that medecine is too narrow a field for you. A man who can speak for so many millions is wasted by just being a heart specialist.
That's another little irony isn't it? A doctor who has no emotional attachment to his patients is a heart doctor. A heart doctor without a heart. You are truly amazing.

The world over, is it what you were looking for? QL is a wrong place to look for that kind of fraternity or compassion.
I am sure if you were still in India you wouldn't even care. Catching the next train would be your bigger worry.
My advice, be a better doctor and help more. You are a man of learning, leave the rest to folks who do not know better.
Why not? Being a doctor is great! U have the right to be hateful, revengeful, wish others horrendous deaths, and deny people treatment just because u don't like their country :D
Aargh, immi. what are you on about? You have totally missed the point of Islam.
Looks like you've been hijacked by the extremist elements who have hijacked the beautiful relgion of Islam.
Love, peace, FORGIVENESS, tolerance, compassion to name a few.
If you can't forgive someone then you carry that anger and bitterness around like a sack of potatoes that only gets heavier.
Peace.
I dont wanna be a doctor now:(((

forgiving is a sin?
it is a wonderful virtue and deeply humbling
look and the peace and truth reconcilliation committees in South Africa and now Rwanda
